Moirai heared the decision and the altered the route of history.

Spoiler :

In cosmic event everything got backyards. Odysseus debornt into his mather, and generatiton before generations people dedied delived and debornt. The rivers climbed the hills, the sun moved form west to east, and summer was after autumn. The vapour came down from the skies to unify with the ashes through flame to make the woods, which were dechopped to form trees. And the trees became smal to seeds. Rain went upwards. However, the most important is the oracle, that debuilt. The marbles went back to the quarry and the bless was taken aback. Somewhen we reached 1600BC. The cosmic event stopped as it never happened.

Spoiler :

The only thing that remained from the old future is a strange sence of knowledge that enlightened the seers. Seers knew that a distant civilisation called Egypt was to weak, while far and wide an other civ planned to build a very important religious building.

Makednos was about to gain control in southern Greece. However, his personal seer told him that it isn't his destiny. "What do you mean it isn't my destiny?" said Makednos. "Terrible things are going to happen! Sorry man, but I'm seer about 10 years, first time I see something so dark. You shall not intervere in South Greece, let them to do their job." Makednos was disappointed, but he didn't want to disrespect the gods.

Spoiler :

Meanwhile, in Attica Athena just won the respect of Ionians. Kekropas, leader of the Ionians named his city after her name to honour her, and she promised him prosperity and eternal glory. Ionians were famous travelers and seeked to colonise the sea.

Spoiler :

Normally, the relations between colonies and metropoleis were too loose. So loose that its colony was on its own. However, the rich colony of Hemeroscopion decided to maintain the relation with Athens. Kekropas made a trade agreement, Athenians will provide Hemeroscopion with labour in exchange for some silver coins. It was a deal Hemeroscopian couldn't refuse.

Spoiler :

In a beautiful summer afternoon a seer gambled with Kekropas. "In a couple of decades you will see some fishermen coming from far and wide. I bet a silver buck for that!". Kekropas laughed "What? No way. Deal!". Unfortunately for him, the fishermen appeared just one year before the deadline. "But... how!" Kekropas asked, and the seer answered: "Well! I'm just doing my job." Kerkopas gave him his silver buck and appointed him as archpriest of Athens.

Spoiler :

Athens enjoyed the blessings of Athena. Athens expanded its influence in the Aegean sea, the rest of southern Greece, from Olympus to Creete. Epirus, Macedonia and half Crete remained indepedent. "For the moment being." Kekropas thought.

Spoiler :

The archpriest guessed that a great power would make contact with us. The next year Ramesses came. Kekropas wanted to make a trade agreement with Egyptians. However, the new leader seemed hostile, and most notably he had no resources to trade out. "He claim to be the son of gods, but we have more food and silver than him? Moreover, why he doesn't open his border with us? At least I tried to be nice..." thought Kekropas and went back to his palace.

Spoiler :

With the blessings of Athena an organised priesthood was developped in Greece. However, the country still lacked of temples. The archpriest told characteristically "The gods are cautious towards us. They demand to honour them majestically and the reward will be great." He demanded Athenians to build a rich and big temple, so he will be able to please the gods more efficiently. Kekropas didn't know what's of the two was real: Did gods demanded a large temple? Or the archpriest wanted a rich place to work?
Kekropas was a peaceful man, the state had enough money, so he decided to build it anyway. However, he was too old to see the beginning of the construction. He died one day before deciding where to build the great temple. All greek people caved in mourning. "Everyday the sun sets. People set too. He was a great man, and always remembered. Gods blessed until now, they will bless us tomorrow."

The question is who will lead us next time?

Spoiler :

After the death of Kekropas Greece was left whitout leader. Many persons seeked to gain political power. In other circumstances this would lead to a civil war. However, all of us remember the peaceful and succesful reign of Kekropas under the blessings of Athena. A true successor should only unite us. Who will be? It depends of his initiative.

At this point only two things are sure: The new leader should build the great temple. Athena herself strongly advises us to discover masonry.

Apollon:
Spoiler :

Apollon the god of sun, light, truth, poetry and prophecy to name few. Apollon was born by Leto with his twin sister Artemis. While his sister focused on hunting Apollon focused on poetry, he was leader of Muses and he always had a lyre with him. The oracle was a temple in favour of him.

After Athens he would also like to bless the Greeks. He is very interested to his temple and would like to make sure it will be built at any cost.
*Build the oracle, discover Masonry
*Pillage Egyptian and Mesopotamian marble (he won't conquer any of them)
*Focus in culture buildings like temples and libraries.

Menelaus:
Spoiler :

Menelaus, king of Sparta. Her wife, the beautiful Helen was stolen by Paris. Menelaus asked for help from all Greeks. The result, Trojan Wars, was one of the most important wars in human history. According to Euripedes, after the Trojan Wars, Helen was moved in captivity in Egypt.

Menelaus wants to take his wife back from Egypt. "Ok, forgot about my wife for the moment. They don't want to trade with us. They can't trade with us. So what's their use to us? Look at them: We are too strong, almost double power! Did you see what he had on his head? I'm sure there are some good riches down there. Let's stop talking and invade Egypt immediately!"

Policy:
*Build the oracle, discover masonry
*Declare war on Egypt and if possible conquer it.
*Focus on military (baracks, then army)

Odysseus:
Spoiler :

King of Ithaca and hero in the Trojan Wars. Odysseus proved to be a very intelligent man, who explored far away lands, not because he choosed to do so, but because it was his destiny.

Odysseus was inspired by Athena's exploring programme and he would like to lead even further.

Spoiler :
At first he would like to abandon the great temple for the time being and build a new colony. In his dream he saw strange things to happen. He dreamt to be the successor of Makednos instead of Kekropas. He dreamt that Athens was a small insignificant village, and that the great city was Korinthos. He also dreamt of great disasters, a great gate from nowhere leading somewhere else, while many strange voices were heard. Next morning he asked a priest to read this bizzare dream. The priest told him, that all these should be memories of the past, but he dreamt them to become true in the near future which is strange. He advised him not to go against the gods, and everything, hopefully, would be fine. "Hmmm, I should abort my plans for a new colony then..." He thought and walked away.

Policy:
*Build the oracle, discover masonry
*Use warriors and the galley to explore the map
*Try to open borders with the east and send emmisaries to far east.

Spoiler :

Spoiler :
Menelaus made a trip around Greece trying to persuade local leaders to join him against Egypt. More and more people liked the idea. Prophecies had it that "A rich lands lies in the south, the present of the Nile." Meanwhile, Egyptians founded Per-Wadjet. The stone-age warriors defending the city caused much laughter among Greeks. "Gods want us to condact this invasion. We should hear their callings."

Spoiler :

The whole greek army was motivated to engage in this war. Menelaus started straight forward and declared war against Ramesses.

Spoiler :

Menelaus really surprised the Egyptians.

Spoiler :
At first his men were seeking to capture Per-Wadjet, from the sea. Menelaus thought about it. He decided that it was better to land near Per-Wadjet. This way he had the opportunity to evade a worker camp in Nile's delta. Invading the city straight-forward meant the workers would be warned in time. Moreover, he estimated that the ships should remain in Egyptian coast. Sending back to Greece to trasnfer the rest army from Greece was a better option.

The espionage information from our capital said that we extreme superiority against Egyptians in military. However, the people worried a lot of this war.

Spoiler :
It is the first time Greeks dared to go against a great power. Many mothers were away from their sons from years. Even the most optimistic military officers estimated that losing half the military is highly possible, and they were almost sure about one quarter of it. Greek women sacrificed to gods for their fathers, brothers and sons.

Menelaus took the war awareness of the Greeks seriously. He decided not to split the forces, but to direct them deep inside the nile to end this war as soon as possible.

Spoiler :

The workers decided to change sides.

Spoiler :
Menelaus promised to protect their homes, as his main aim was the great cities of Egypt and not the villages. He sent to Sena and let them pass through their village. Workers were afraid of that "And what if Egyptian army capture us?" Menelaus told them that he spoke with gods and they will protect them. In fact Menelaus wanted to subtract some troops outside the main cities of Egypt and close their way back. Moreover, he wanted to explore the area.

Menelaus spies who were secretely accompanying the workers spotted a rich source of copper in the east.

Spoiler :
The worst thing is that it is currently worked and fully linked with the Egyptian trade network. Menelaus had to move quickly. "Egyptians build advanced weaponary right now. We have now time to heal, we must go inside the nile valley." Menelaus kept this information secret. Frightening the military is the last thing he would like to do right now.

He just ordered the ships to land the new units in the eastern coast. The hulungani corps would chop the connection if needed.

Battle of Per Wadjet:
Spoiler :

Spoiler :
The fear of advanced weaponary was inside Menelaus' head. His officers estimated that a great city, maybe the Egyptian capital itsself lies some miles in the south. Moreover, they considered the capture something more than sure. Their saying are characteristic: "If you lose this battle, just surrender Egypt, only a miracle can save them." Menelaus decided that the eastern corps should attack first, so that the western corps can move and capture the city, thus being nearer the nile.

Spoiler :

Menelaus captured Per-Wadjet and burnt it to the ground.
Spoiler :
It was a real massacre. Almost all the men of Per-Wadjet died in the battle. It seems Ares really came down here. The women and children fled to the countryside. Nothing but ruins remained to the city.

However, Egyptians gave almost no attention to the event. It seemed Ramesses conducted a really good propaganda. Menelaus was wandering "Strange, we just destroyed one of their city, and they think they win the war..."

Spoiler :

The destruction of Per-Wadjet didn't calm down the greek people. Menelaus didn't bother. "Well, it seems to be a privillage of Monarchs, to enjoy people's acceptance..."

The battle of Niewt-Rst
Spoiler :

In the depths of dessert we found the mythical egyptian capital Newt-Rst.

Spoiler :
The imposing Pyramids became a stimulus of wonder among the greek army. "So that's what our gods are jealous of. We are capable to build something so majestic as this".
The city was defended by a couple of archers. Odds were against us, but we had an army of four strong units. "We might lose half the army, but it deserves it. The land is rich, it has copper, food, stone and marble, anything Greece needs right now."

Who dares wins. Gods protected us and managed to conquer Egypt with only some scratces!

Menelaus managed to accomplish his mission. After the capture of Egyptian capital all Egyptian people bowed in front of him. He was the ultimate victor in this battle. The next weak a great fest spawned among Greeks. The prayers of mothers, sister and wives were heard. The egyptians wars were over, and the result was a decissive and absolute greek victory!

The story inspired many people. Legents and myths of the wars became known far and wide under the name "Niouristiad". Well at first it was called "Niout-Ristiad" bad it isn't so easy to be said.

Menelaus decided to become the governor of Egypt launching the egyptian Atreid dynasty leaving the position of the greek leader vacant. Later historiographs (ancient name of historians) wrote that Menelaus propably had the blessings of Ares.

Spoiler :

We the Greeks, built colonies, conquered a (weak) empire, explored the world. And continue.

Spoiler :

What is missing? Hmm, we must build the oracle to thank gods.

Menelaus managed to acomplish his mission, but the previous mission, building the oracle really needs a boost. Who can accomplish this mission, so we can take the blessing of gods?

Apollon:

After Athens and Ares he would also like to bless the Greeks. He is very interested to his temple and would like to make sure it will be built at any cost.
*Build the oracle, discover Masonry
*Pillage Mesopotamian marble (he won't conquer any of them)
*Focus in culture buildings like temples, libraries.

Artemis:
Spoiler :

Artemis, sister of Apollon the godess of hunt, wilderness and virginity. She is believed to protect forests and hills, while she may play a role in wars.

Artemis would like to bless the Greeks like her brother. She is interested to her temple as well.
*Build the oracle, discover Masonry
*Build the temple of Artemis (in Diospolis or Hemeroscopion)
*Focus in military (baracks, units)

Agamemnon
Spoiler :

Agamemnon brother of Menelaos, king of Argos. He fight with his brother in the Trojan Egyptian wars. He was the husband of Cletemnestra and father of Electra and Iphigenia. His family was an ispiration in later poets and drama writers.

Agamemnon wants to continue the succesful wars in the east. We know that there is a minor kingdom in the east and by prophecies we know that there is an even greater even easter. He wants to invade these regions and conquer if possible in favour of Greece.

Spoiler :
Bad rumor has it he wants to become the king of Babylon, like his brother became the king of Diospolis...

Policy:
*Build the oracle, discover masonry
*Invade eastern cities and if possible conquer them.
*Train advanced military (hoplites)

Spoiler :
Isn't that 3 votes for Meneleus then?

Yes. I forgot to count my vote.

"The women and children fled to the countryside."
You let them free?! Where are you gonna get your concubines?!?!?

Apollon
They really need more science.

Agamemnon
Can't resist pointing this out: *invade, not evade. The story is great anyway ;)
