Guess the Map IV: A Thousand Cries for "Hint Please!"

My first thought was that it's tennis related, but I don't think that's true now due to the presence of Bulgaria and the absence of the UK.

Will guess anyway: grand slams won?

Something the US, Australia, Spain, Switzerland, and the Czech Republic are all good at (or at least one person from that country is good at this.) Must be Tennis.

Gray - no one from this country has ever won a men's Grand Slam tournament in the open era.
Yellow - At least one person from this country has won a men's Grand Slam tournament in the open era.
Red - This country has a large amount (10?) of men's grand slam championships in the open era.

edit: @Arwon: Britain has several Wimbledon titles, but none are in the open era.

Nah, Romania had one in the 70s. Bulgaria isn't coloured, my mistake.

It's definitely grand slams. And it's gotta be men only due to the absence of orange for Germany, Belgium and Russia.

Correct.

To be precise: open era men's grand slams won by country.

By what you said I thought I must have mixed up Bulgaria with Rumania, but I coloured the right country (Rumania) if I'm not still mistaken. :p

Very correct. Yellow 1-10 titles, Orange/Red, more than 10.

See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Grand_Slam_men's_singles_champions somewhere down there is a list by country.

Put down Czechoslovakia as the Czech republic, didn't look up where Lendl and Kodes (never heard of the man till today either!) were exactly from. Sorry to any Slovaks if that was totally off the mark. :mischief:

Romania is odd if it is tennis.
Nastase!

Will can take the next one - was more correct, and I've got nothing.

Each color means a country has a plurality of something. Venezuela is a tie between green and purple. Lesser Antilles are gray because I didn't bother look them up. Greenland is gray because the statistics I've looked at didn't distinguish between green and yellow, but combined green and yellow have the majority.

Is there some relevance to only the Western Hemisphere being provided?

The Eastern Hemisphere would make the map way too easy.

Well give the full map once someone has guessed the correct answer, so we can compare if that is correct.

I made the map myself and never filled in the eastern hemisphere, but I'll make it if someone still wants after someone guesses the correct answer.

BTW, no one is close yet.

most common cash crop (coffee, tobacco, cacao...)

EDIT: No Canada is wrong. Number of wheat types massively produced

I was gonna guess race as well. Orange = Asian Indian. Can't think of any other category in which Guyana/Suriname and Peru/Bolivia would be isolates.
