Guess the Map IX: The Richese are no match

Hmm. Not much of a pattern. Is the blank country in the pacific the Solomon Islands?

Yep. Nauru and Kiribati are also blank.

^What color would South Sahara be if it was colored for a change? ;)

Well it's an either/or, so... If the map were colored, they would still be blank, but the black areas would be different. Basically, black means something happens, blank means it doesn't.

France is coloured black, but not French Guiana. Is that an error?

Something maritime?
No landlocked countries.

Nope. Although Portugal and the Solomon Islands should be black, but the general picture is the same.

Kind of, it does have to do with the oceans.

Fishing. Coral reefs.

It's not exactly Coral, but there is a certain city there. Ask them for a pint of Shoggoth's Old Peculiar while you're at it.

Higher-than-average tides?

Well 'medicanes,' as they are (apparently) sometimes called, have been found to have features essentially identical to tropical cyclones elsewhere in every way that matters... warm core low with intense, cyclonic winds and deep convection.

Here's the one that hit Greece:
