Guilty of rape by deception

Btw, does this make any adulterer/ess automatically a rapist too, since his/her partner would not sleep with him if she knew the truth?

it makes pretty much everyone, everywhere, ever a rapist.

The way this is viewed is that the woman's responsibility 'ends' when she asks whether or not he's jewish. If he had said no then she may not have had sex with him. The distinction between whether she would have had sex with him if he wasn't jewish is the issue. If not, then it seems she was deceived, the sex was against her will and therefore rape.

And grown adults shouldn't be pampered by the law like that. She suffered nothing from the fact that he was a Palestinian. He lied. She should get over it and the state should mind it's own buisness.

Not everyone. If you lie and say you make twice as much money as you do, or that you are not married when you are, it may not be rape.

If the partner says, "I'm not sleeping with you unless you make this amount of money/are not married," and then you lie, you may well be guilty of rape by deception.

The same sorts of laws are in place to protect adults from all kinds of things, the one that currently pops into my head is contractual relations.

I don't think they exchanged contracts before going to a nearby building and having sex.

"Statutory rape", "rape by deception", "rape by magic", "rape by walking over rainbow" are horrible legalistic chimeras.

Yes, cos having sex with a 15 year old is equivalent to telling a woman you earn more than you really do.

I think its complex, but I do think it was an illegal sort of deception if she asked and he said no. It is actually against the Jewish religion to sleep with Gentiles.

However, if a Muslim woman was in the same situation, the Jew should be convicted.

Should it have been a year and a half in jail? I don't know about that. But something.

Not necessarily. You can deceive someone to have sex, but in this case it does not sound like deception, but perhaps on the woman's part.

You are saying it like sex with 15 year old is something bad .

And the point is not should it (sex with 15 yo) be illegal or not. The point is that calling sex with 15 yo a "rape" if she is doing it willingly because she is considered mentally disabled until reaching some arbitrary age (from 13 to 18 depending on the country) is stupid.

Call it "corruption of youth" or something. Just do not invent horrible formulae like "statutory rape" or "rape by deception".

I'm actually (Sort of) agreeing here.

If a 45 year old is having sex with someone a third of his age, whether they call it rape or not there should be serious consequences. I guess if she's willing its not "Rape" technically but its still really, really messed up.

However, the fact that an 18 year old can get charged with rape for having sex with a 17 year old is stupid (And this is coming from a Christian who says they morally shouldn't be having sex until they're married anyway.)

A black man is approached by a blind women in the street and they start talking.
It is in a white area.
He gives a name that is not used by blacks and says he is single when he is not.
After a few minutes they go to an office and have sex.
He leaves quickly and she is upset.
Latter she finds out that he was a black man and she reports that he violently raped her.

Well, he did lie, not about being black but about being single, and I think there should be some punishment for that. Not as much as if it were violent by any means, but something.

Young man in his mid-20s chats to woman in the bar, woman says she's 26, but actually she's 35. They have sex 7 times before he finds out her true age. Woman is convicted on 7 counts of rape, sentenced to life in jail.

Hey cool does this mean one can accuse a 16 year old girl for rape because she lied about her age and one wouldn't have consented with knowledge that she was under the age of consent???

Did that really happen?

I think it should be illegal, yes. Not life in jail, but a punishment yes.
