It seems this sums it up:

Ilan Pappe's latest book, The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine, is apparently not different from his others. It invents new "facts" and fake quotes by Ben-Gurion and others that were never said. David Pryce-Jones has reviewed the book, in the Literary Review.

Pryce-Jones' complaints against Pappe seem to be mainly that he is a communist and an anti-Zionist:

Oh please. All I am saying is that Israel has been way too humane. They, no matter what Israel-haters say, differentiate between militants and civilians. They don't invade some city and randomly shoot civilians. They don't drop a bomb into a crowd of innocent people.

I'm not going to get into this argument because there are more important and relevant things to discuss. But we were talking about Czech Republic with its capital city and culture centred around Prague. What does Poland and Russia have to do with that? And yes, Czech Republic is a western country. All you have to do is glance through its history and its position in the EU right now and its current economic situation.

Can they not see that Israel has a right to defend itself? This is different from a terrorist action where someone walks into a school with the intent to kill as many people?

If Israel were a terrorist regime, they would be killing many many more people than they have right now.
