Guy from Scotland faces year in prison for training his dog (to do the Nazi salute)

Do you think there's any justification for trialing people for edgy humor, or is this just hate speech laws that have gotten out of control?

Have you SEEN the VIDEO ?
Unless they find neo nazi material or other facist related material he shouldnt goto gaol, he should be fined at the most and have to apologize.

Man who filmed pet dog giving Nazi salutes 'said gas the Jews 23 times' in short video clip

The 30-year-old recorded his girlfriend's pug, Buddha, raising its paw when it heard vile statements such as 'gas the Jews' and 'Sieg Heil'.

The dog is filmed visibly perking up when it hears Nazi phrases. The dog lifts its paw when it hears 'Sieg Heil' in the video, and is also captured watching a rally by Hilter at the 1936 Berlin Olympic Games.

I saw it about a year ago. I recall it being obviously a joke and I found it amusing.

Edit: We must be into double figures for saying "gas the jews" in this thread by now ourselves. Better watch out. Also the journalist who wrote that article for the Daily Mail should probably be locked up. Not for saying "gas the jews", but for writing for the Daily Mail.

Every single dog throughout the world should be taught to Roman salute at the term"Sieg Heil" just so we can all perpetually have a laugh at the expense of liberal fuddy-duddies such as in this very thread with sticks wedged too far up their backsides.

Nice intentional misinterpretation.
The guy taught a dog to give Nazi salute. I honestly find this to be rather funny (and hardly reverent towards Nazis). If anything, he's making fun OF them.
You're interpreting this as hate speech and want him jailed. For making fun of Nazis.
I dunno, but it's looking like the Monty Python would be arrested in today's UK!
If we're lucky, we'll see makers of Allo Allo exhumed. A Cadaver Nuremberg trial!

Absolutely ridiculous.

It's obviously a joke, and he even says as much at both the start and end of the video. At worst, he's an idiot with too much time on his hands. But that isn't illegal, nor should it be. He's hurt no one, and he's clearly not encouraging violence or hatred (unless the argument is that someone sees a dog doing a roman salute and thinks, "Right that's it! Final Solution time!").

Just a little thought experiment.

If a guy made a video where he stated that the worst thing he could think of was a feminist, and he trained his dog to perk up when he heard "we need more women in STEM", or get "triggered" and bark loudly whenever it heard "the gender paygap is a myth" or whenever it saw a man "manspreading" or... well, just whenever it saw a man in general. With the stated intent of annoying his girlfriend who also didn't like feminists... would you argue that the video was pro-feminism and clearly made my a feminist-sympathiser?

Food for thought perhaps? No? Oh well, can't say I'm surprised.

If someone taught a child who didn't know what it meant to do the Nazi salute, would that be a problem?
Promoting hate. There are already cases of parents/relatives doing this (as children, Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret were taught to do this by their "loving" Uncle David - later King Edward VIII, who renounced his throne to marry Wallis Simpson).

In later years, there was a case of parents having their children taken away because they kept sending the kids to school with swastikas drawn on their skin - done by the adults, not the kids.

The Scottish dude who taught his dog the Nazi salute should not go to jail. He does deserbe a stern talking to. That's his girlfriend's job.
Your dude who thinks feminists are worse than nazis should go to jail. Just in case.
He's probably a rapist.

He's not a feminist, so the chance of him being a rapist is relatively low.

Well, with those manosphere guys there's alwas a good chance they want to rape somebody and are full of self-loathing because they don't have the balls to actually do it.
But why take any chances ?

Well, I'm a big advocate for jailing all men just because they might do something, but between the people of the "manosphere" and the people in the feminism movement, the people in the feminism movement are the ones who have the crime statistics against them.

The somebody has been falling for the wrong feminists.

No, it's statistics.

I'd like to see those, and I'd like to see how they determine if somebody is a feminist.

Count Dankula (!) and his moment in court.

High Chancellor of 420th Meme Legion. Professional S***poster. Anti-PC. Pro Free Speech. Edgi Boi. I'm not a Nazi, but my dog is.

Still no sign of what his sentence is.

edit: I've just found out the trial's been delayed until 20th March.
