You don't have permission to access "http://www.georgewbush.com/" on this server.

Hehe. It's a simple setting change. Why haven't they fixed it already?

Works for me as well.

Then it must be off only for Europenas!
Same conclusion here. Why? Is poor 'ickle Bush afraid of us?

It's a clear indication that Bush is not pro-Globalisation, and hints at the possibility that he may be completely anti-Europe.

Akin to the Iron Curtain of former generations, the international exclusion zone around georgewbush.com will be extended to include the USA if Bush is re-elected.

I would assume he is trying to remove any threat from any unsavory Europeans, and since they don't really matter in the election nobody will make a big fuss out of it.

an asinine statement based off of biased assumptions

It could just be that they want to save bandwidth and avoid the site going down because of too many European visitors...

That's a stupid move by the Bush camp. Especially since American voters overseas now can't access the site.

I don't get the motive behind it? Too much trafic bogging down their servers? I highly doubt that.

Rumours go it was hacked.

But whether is was hacked or not, these rumours would be there anyway.

Honestly doesn't strike me as very likely. The cost of a half-decent dedicated server is negligeable. There are sites that handle far more traffic with fewer resources.

That was my take, that foreign hackers had almost breached the site, and excluding foreign IP ranges was put in place to help reduce future vulnerability. If a foreign hacker tries to hit the site from a compromised US host, the FBI/Secret Service/et al can at least follow through to the first link this way.

It works in Canada (at least for me).
