Halo Mafia [Game Thread]

Earthling wasn't a scanner no, he was covering for someone else, though he never told me who. Apparently there is some kind of trusted town network.

If anyone does know who "the scanner" is then we need to know their identity. Now.

So, on the topic of scanning, how is mayor going?

Well, this changes everything. If there's a general delay on alignment reveals, this may explain why so many people have flipped as vanilla marine.

Back when spaceman was up for the lynch, visorslash asked to be lynched in preference. As I said back then, this was only scummy if spaceman was scum. And it only really worked if spaceman was a cult leader and visor a minion. But if visor knew about delayed reveals, then if he's a less valuable mafia than spaceman, it would be worth himself being lynched, flipping town, and seemingly exonerating spaceman for the intervening days. This is where some halo knowledge mgiht help. From the brief bits I've read on the wiki, the prophets are leaders of the badguys? So spaceman might have been really powerful and we got lucky when he was nightkilled early.

So I'm leaning visorslash, but would be grateful to halo players for any background info they can give, and I really need to go right back through the thread in the light of this new information.

That's the final nail in the coffin for me. There really isn't much that could convince me not to vote for Visor now.

Firstly, you've played with me a bit, I'm not exactly the stupidest player here. Why would my scum partner follow my vote, and not only do that, do it in a really scummy way. Then why would I defend said partner and advocate my own lynch. It doesn't make sense from any kind of perspective.

My defence: I'm not an idiot, vote topsecret.

I'm going for Vote: Verarde, Aliens need to die... I hope...

vote: Abstain

Don't like the overwhelming bandwagon on Visorslash, but there's no alternate candidates at the moment either, and I don't have the time to look back to see if there's another good option out there.

ahum

The Covenant has a caste system and the Prophets are the highest caste. From this caste, three are somehow selected to be the High Prophets and lead the races. The most recent three were real douchebags.

Looks like an even more tenuous proof of scumminess than that against Visorslash.

Ahh, you were the scanner.

Unvote: Vote: Verarde

I don't know how you got that from mayor's post. More to the point, being covenant doesn't imply being scum, you know with the whole covenant separatists thing going on.

But...

vote: Visorslash because jumping on Verarde for no reason has pushed me towards thinking you're scum.

Unvote; Vote: Azzaman

Jumping on Verarde for no reason, eh? Firstly, I am a big easy lynch target (as you are demonstrating), and there are a lot of reasons to vote me, yet mayor votes for someone else, and implies some kind of result. It seems that there is more then meets the eye here. Did he scan your teammate maybe?

This last post is a scum tell. Waiting for a 'legit' reason to jump on the townie bandwagon.

What on earth has you thinking I am scum, mayor? And Visorslash, I wasn't too sure about voting for you just on account of the flinch (i.e. willing to give you a second shot), but your vote on me was a classic example of trying to draw the attention away from yourself. Vote: Visorslash

Good. vote: Visorslash.

He's saying 'I hope'. Please explain.

What this? Stop changing votes. You're voted for vote-switching and just OMGUS again. At this point I can only conclude that you're trying to get lynched on purpose. You need to die, you were willing to be lynched before, why not now?

Mayor, are you the scanner who was "advising" Earthling? Or has that person been lost to the nether of networking?

@Zack: I'm sorry, I've forgotten. When did we mindlessly follow Mayor again?
