Luckily i don't have this problem...now if only I didn't have that problem on my chest or other areas, I'll be fine. Not that I shave anywhere other than my face (when I get around to it).

I guess that's certainly something coming from ww2. A bit like the belief in America that there's no bathroom in French houses. I thought those beliefs were disappearing with time but obviously it's not the case.

What about chest hair do we have to shave that too? Imagine the time all these things cost and then weigh them up to the reactions you get. Think of the GDP loss a country would suffer if men would have to removes hair from their body's everyday.

As long as woman don't have a chooise and all men remain unshaven it's a level playing field. So a win-win situation between men. Same thing with make-up, sure it may look good with some men. But we have decided to ridicule everyone who wears it for the same reason.

I don't ask whether I should shave my armpits, I would honnestly be truely repelled by the idea I would have hair under my arms. Actually, the point of this thread is to wonder why YOU guys don't feel as repelled by having hairy armpits... cause it's not very pretty to see for girls (at least for me). Honnestly, even outside esthetic considerations, I can't understand how you personally feel comfortable with that remaining of fur on you.

Actually, this would create new consumption and companies fabricating shavers will win ever more money thanks to their male-armpits specific shavers. (I'm sure they would invent that pretty fast, after all they've already invented manual shavers different for men and women.)

Well, it's a matter of social values. Untill the 20th century, it was considered as a shame for women to wear paints. Today, women wear more pants than skirts and dresses combined. There's no reason to believe this couldn't work with male shaved armpits.

Well, to tell you the truth, yes there are. On the other hand, even women that don't like it, should deal with it, however. That's the way a man looks. And please, don't start saying "what if the women said that men had also to deal with unshaven armpits"? That doesn't count, because if a man doesn't find a woman attractive..., nothing will happen, and besides, I personally have met only 1 man that didn't want his wife to shave: there're probably others out there, too, but they're the minority.

However, it's clear that woman would still be disturbed in seeing a guy on the beach with shaved armpits. It doesn't necessarily sound as homosexual, but at least it sounds as being very careful with his body. Something which can be seen as narcissic for a male... when it's considered as mandatory for a female.

That's has to do with HOW a man imagines the woman: soft skin/touch, no hairs, etc..etc.., now how can a skin be soft if it's unshaved? Even if it is soft, the picture turns most men away.

Really, there's something in here that should change in the society. I mean, people should remain free to do whatever with their body, no matter if they want to look better or at the opposite to look like nothing. The thing is that I'm not attracted by hair in general, and even less by pits hair.

I agree: people should remain free to do whatever they want with their body, even grow moustache both sexes... I hope though, that a woman doesn't ask me afterwards why I don't find her attractive.

Why don't you also say that some men, nowadays also shave their belly? Men have hairs there, you know(less hairs or more hairs it doesn't matter: they have hairs in their belly), but they want to show their abs, which when they're hard-looking and "clean", they're just not "normal"(chemisty helps a lot these days...). So, how do find shaved bellies? Probably you accept it more, since we see it often in the movies, but still, not all men shave their belly.

I don't think it will weigh up to the millions of hours men would have to spend shaving their armpits. Let alone the all the costs of infections that accidental cuttings would cause and the economic consequences thereoff.

I still find a woman with a skirt/dress more attractive, in most cases anyway(but if the skirt/dress is awfull-looking, it's horrible! ).
No, I'm not saying that all pants aren't good: an elegant pant is very nice to see, too. I just wish women didn't dress like men all the time, and stop complaining that "there aren't any men left on this planet".

Body hair. I have very little so I have always left it in place. Men and women who select mates based on body hair merely limit the pool of people they consider suitable. i don't know if that is smart or not. If men feel that a profusion of chest, back and under arm hair will reduce their chances of having sex partners, they will get rid of it. I think that western culture has been slowly stigmatizing hairy men over the past 50 years or so. It's like tall people. Tall people are perceived as better able to do things than short people. Hairy people are perceived as less suitable then men with little or no body hair. My wife shaves her legs in summer and shaves under her arms year round. I don't care one way or the other.

No, never. I've never thought about it so I've never been repulsed by the idea. I don't think there's hair on my body that I wouldn't be willing to shave for a price though.

BTW, just because long curly hair was fashionable in the 17th century doesn't mean that ANYTHING could become fashionable in the 21st century. IOW, there IS reason to believe that this couldn't work with male shaved armpits - men are just too lazy to shave their armpits.
