I come from the Swinney clan.

Apparently, it derives from suibhne meaning "pleasant". That does not describe my dads mother. My ex was told to check the gene pool before having children with me

Fortunately, it is only 25 per cent.

I don't know of any Irish ancestry.

Our family is mostly English, with some Germans and Cherokee. I used to think that my great-great grandfather was Italian, but then I found out that the family name Cato is actually usually Scottish. (I think most of the English on that side of the family is from northern England, my mom's maiden name Norton would suggest. I've also noticed that my granddad's accent sounds less Southern U.S. than Northern English, after having a few British teachers do impressions of the accents of different regions of the country.) I suppose that means I have Irish blood if you go back far enough.

Born in Dublin. So were Mum and Dad.

No Irish that I know of

My father's line is mainly german and british. plus some scottish-irish.

I think the vikings used to bring Irish sex slaves back home, so maybe I have some Irish in me I don't know of.

Did you know that most iceland's population have irish roots?

2 Greatgreatgreatgreat grandfathers, both born in the early 1800s.
