Heretic_Cata's All in One Mod - Expansion

I loved playing your mod. I too had a forced exit I tried to upload the screen capturebut I failed. It said:
Load Error

File Not Found

"Art\Units\Shaolin Monk\ \Warrior Monk\WarriorMonkRun.amb"

The game will now exit.

Hey Heretic Cata... I have made a world map for your mod ( i actually did this for the unexpanded build, but never posted it i dont think) and i updated it so everything should be in order. I know that obviously some of the fun of your mod was the random chances of a resource being here or there or the combinations, but some people like me often like to try out the world map too just for fun. So, i hope you enjoy! let me know what you think. (PS this is set for all 31 civs at once, but you can change that if you need to in the scenario properties tab in the editor)

EDIT: ok, i need to explain something with the map that some people might be curious about. I put multiple starting locations for certain civs to help preserve the randomness that i love about your mod. For instance Mongolia could start where it historically would, or it could start in central asia, while the celts could be in Ireland, Masilla (modern Marseille), or Dacia. This has so far worked quite well and i think adds a lot of replay value, so if you star as the Chinese but you are more around Shanghai than Beijing, dont be alarmed... this was intended. It works quite well too and is one of my ideas ive been tossing around for a while and was VERY happy to apply to your mod and btw, no one has done this before... so feel honored HC :P

EDIT2: Oh, and Sumeria is now in ethiopia which is TOTALLY wrong, but the middle east is too crowded with arabia, babylon, turkey, egypt, and persia. I know this is wrong, but it should add to the game balance (i hope)

yeah absolutely! im glad you like it! do anything you want to it and tell me how its supposed to be lol. and you know what, i havent tested every starting position or every civ with this by any means so im sure you are right about unbalancing aspects, but you are right: the Aztecs cannot build a settler. i think this could be ok, if we make them have as high production as they do around tenochtitlan so they can pump out Jag's, but again, that wont be relevent until the area is already settled, so we may wanna add something to that area, but not much... they are weak and should be! haha. also, Korea can run into problems with expansion because of china, but i dont see this as too much of a problem, as they always seem to get scavanger camp and i have seen them conquer china once. but again, maybe this should be tweaked. oh and i noticed that the vikings CAN build a settler, but its the late industrial age in my game and they have one extra city and are in the ancient age, so maybe some fish or something would be good (though they DO have a sizable army) lets work on this and find more errors, cause im sure there are plenty lol. for the map i made it so ansar warriors dont need iron (no iron there) and they enslave fanatics because i thought that would help them expand in such a crowded region. i also have since made a few other map changes, like more saltpeter in europe, an iron for persia, and things like that. but yeah, do anything you please and tell me how it works out/send it to me so i can see for myself!
 
oh and on a different note, i think Russia needs a better wonder then the Kremlin. doubling the effects of cathedrals doesnt work well in my opinion because as Russia i rarely build them because i am not religious... universities and libraries are cheaper than cath's and temples, so i dont build the latter. i was thinking something along the lines of "Five Year Plan" or something that would increase production like 200% in the city, place a police station in every city, and spawn a worker every 3-5 turns. on the other hand it should require communism for its gov't and expire with Fission to show the fall of the soviet Union or something... ie to limit its effect. speaking of which... s[hinx needs to expire sometime... im tired of egypt getting all those techs of mine for free (or conversely playing as egypt and having my tech rate on 0% cause i dont need it!) i have lots (and i mean LOTS) more ideas for this excellent mod if you would like to hear them. just let me know
 
One question tho, are the biq rules the ones after the patch ?

I think we could manage with some start locations not getting to 4 pop if we give some freshwater close for irigation - or clearing forests/jungles so that it could get to 4.


I will try to work on the map tomorrow or in the weekend. I'll tell you what i'll add. :)

Btw, where is the Holy Hand Grenade ? :) I'll probably add it near Israel somewhere. :D

I'll think about the russian wonder - double cathedrals is quite big tho. :D

WTH ? I thought i made the sphynx expire. :eek: What the hell ? It seems like it doesn't expire now. :mad:
 
well, Holy Hand Grenade is where Antioch is, well because it IS the holy hand grenade of Antioch! but yeah, this is updated for the newest big thing on the first page im pretty sure... if its not let me know so i can download that and play it! also, yeah sphinx doesnt expire though i wish it did (when im not playing as egypt)

I released the newest patch. Download it from the PATCHES POST.

I added the Mogao Caves and the Nalanda University graphics
The Sphinx expires at Rise of Monotheism (just like i thought i had put it :hmm:)
Occultism now costs less and is tradeable

And i think i moddified some other stuff too. :D

I also changed the intructions of how/where to put the patch, hopefully i got them right this time. :lol:

Next thing - i'll fiddle with KingColtrane's map a bit. :D
 
Btw, King Coltrane. I'm not gonna change any of the strategic and luxury resources you put there. I see you really put work into this. :)
 
well i am honored to hear that, but by all means fix anything you would like and improve it as well! first thing i would look for is whether there are enough iron/saltpeter resources as i think i may not have put enough... but who knows.

Of course i'll put you. :yup: I was gonna add you when i'd finish editing the map, but since you're eager you're there now. :D
