Hermetic lore for FFH DI4 (not for use outside this game)

I'm planning on sending hm on a quest to find the dwarves and liberate a small dwarven fort from an ogre that took over. I was also thinking: Would it be OK for me to give him a dwarven unit or two, and then have him be attacked by 4 or 5 barbarian units?

You could give him dwarven units after he liberates the fortress. I wouldn't give them to him before.

Alright.

You guys think he can take out an Ogre? I'm thinking either that or a goblin horde.

But if he plays with multiple character graphics, that's 15 goblins. ;)

Meh, I'll figure it out.

I'm responding to your post. Am I to be smitten? :P

Does anyone have the map right now or is planning on taking it within the next few hours?

Yes. Your Intervention privaleges are also barred this round.

Not that I have authority to do that, mind you, but if you believe a stranger on the internet...

Does anyone have the map right now or is planning on taking it within the next few hours?
Don't ask: just do. Whoever posts first doesn't have to redo it.

OK. I won't take it for a few more hours, since I won't be able to work yet. :(

And don't worry, I didn't believe you.

Alright, thank you for the extra info on Aeron, I will keep this in mind. I do plan to help out the vampires (counteracting with Duc d'Orange). I also will try to corrupt the Grigori, and maybe give a few units the Burning Blood Promotion...

I would still like to use the Tower of Arawn, and I like the idea of Arawn punishing them in some way. From there I could use my powers to make them denounce the God of Death and despise him, going to the Vampires to find immortality..... Which in turn will give me more followers. :D

When I get the save, I plan on placing a trapped Epyrean Missionary somewhere, some distance away, trrapped and then give him a quest to free him.

Reposting from the other thread as it includes some future plans:

I have some ideas for interventions I'll make, but Tali is absolutely delighted with Gerran and the Grigori right now (see above OOC comment). The Minstrel will return and settle with the Grigori (held Great Bard with only the join city option, if I can manage it, otherwise I'll trust Verdian to simply settle him in). Stevanson will likely be cured of all the naturally-occurring bad things (not touching Cernunnos' curse, however) and given Recruiter, so he can rally the Grigori to adventure (some of them will mistakenly join the army, but c'est la vie). I am thinking that when the Minstrel returns, he'll urge the Grigori to learn Festivals as he "teaches the Grigori how to enjoy themselves."

Any civilization that has at least a third tier of territory around a city will receive something (trying to decide what I want to give, since this will include the Grigori).

Any civilization with at least 6 Warriors (specifically) will discover their Warriors shirking responsibilities, absent intermittently and utterly unreliable for the purposes of war (Crazed promotion).

A new fortress named Stormkeep will be placed on the map in an unexplored area. Stormkeep will be guarded by a Disciple of Leucetious. It will be involved in an upcoming quest.

This puts Tali's goals at cross purposes with Camulos, which seems appropriate enough given that discipline and military might are two of Tali's least favorite things. At the moment there is no real conflict with Kilmorph, although the two are diametrically opposed (Order vs Chaos, really), so I foresee trying to interrupt Kilmorph's machinations in the future (perhaps once they change from "explore ancient dwarven lands!" to "build Courthouses!").

Editing map now. Will bless & (minorly) curse, set up the dwarves for their quest, and set up the fortress. It will be in the mountains, and be guarded by immobile goblins. Dont touch it guys, m'kay?

Babale....try not to get too over-zealous too soon. Start out with small bonuses and minor quests, otherwise you won't have anything for later.

Also, if the quest is too hard, Verdian will very likely ignore it and you won't gain his worship for some time, if ever.

I love the Gal-Dur quest idea originated by Lgaard, and would like to see the Ogres implemented as the ancient fortress' defenders. Two might be a bit much, but they could always be given the plague, withered, rust, or whatever, to make them a little more manageable in the first 100 turns or so.

Or, perhaps one withered Ogre and a few goblins. You could give the Ogre a unique name, perhaps a piece of equipment, etc.

Just a thought....of course, feel free to take things in the direction you want to, I just don't want to see you overdo the first couple interventions and then be bored for the rest of the game because you ran out of good ideas. :)

I wasn't gonna use Ogres yet, thanks to advice. But the withered ogre idea is good. Maybe not an ogre, but something else iconic that has a bunch of bad promotions.

I've had a little delay with Civ, but I should be able to make the changes in 10 minutes and will then be done.

Sounds interesting. You could always use a goblin with a unique name, and some nice promos, if you feel an Ogre would be too much.

When Lgaard originally posted this idea, I saw it as more of a mid-game quest because of the ogres. 10:strength: units aren't very easily killed in the early game.

Quick suggestion: If the player liberates the Dwarven fort, he'll get a bonus to relations with both dwarf civs, but a penalty with the Clan of Embers. Up to Bhall, though. (Small boosts and penalties--+1 and -2, or similar.

Alright. Seems like I'm having difficulties loading the save at all, ie it just CtD's after downloading, so for the foreseeable future I'm going to be an indirect intervention style. Feel free to be extra-liberal screen-caps: it's interesting to see what exactly you all have done.

Translation: Loading the file isn't quick or convenient without more effort than I have time/am willing to give, so I'm going to beg others (Thomas) to do my interventions for me. Please post lots of screenshots for my benefit, hahahah.

After being reminded that I about the spam, I am curious to know how I will purvey my messages as Aeron. I think I might as well create my own messengers. If there is an answer in the FFH lore please tell me.

Furies (Damn Greeks stole my idea! ;))- My messengers, known to loose their temper
Daegs- My more violent messengers, usually when I am upset or just ahving a bad day.
