HOF Version 3 - "Test Run"

Lanzelot:
I don't see the problem with division/corps in the civilopedia.
But the entries themselves describe both unit sizes.
Most of those spelling errors are because Arexander renamed
every German unit at the start of the game. The Lavidia Palace error
is my fault.
This is the entry for Russian infantry:

Ok, didn't see that in the beginning...

So all civilopedia entries give the numbers (shield price, attack, defense, movement) for the corp type unit, and in order to get the corresponding numbers for the division,
I just divide everything by three? (Except for movement I guess...)

No, I don't see that problem, see civilopedia entries below for US Infantry.
A/D/M stats look OK. Can you post a picture of the incorrect entry you
are seeing?

my feedback...

Great scenario:goodjob:, with interesting combinations.

The hardest for me was to take sea advantage over Japan,
And i must say that it's thanx to one of my teammate (but dont remerber witch :undecide: )
I first kept a lot of ships in Atlantic to put pression on Deutchland,
but then, i only let ASW to spot subs...

the US Atlantic ships arrived in Japan, i destroyed a great part of the Japanese navy,
and captured the first city.

Then arrived, what i think is a powerfull combo for US :
- Paratroop, not a powerfull unit, but put 6-7 in a city, and it will be hard to re-capture. and Most important : Travel to airports in 1 turn. Much more faster than in ships !

- Heavy bombers : that unit is increadibly cheap but very strong ! Maybe too strong.
to damage other units... or to bomb japanese land...

- marines... to conquer coastal cities... without city, no heavy bomber (or only in carrier...limited)

So... that was my strategy... a lot of small units but with a lot of potential of move and range (and capability of amphibious attack of course).

But i think Japan could have resisted if home cities were protected by at least 5-6 units (small units...), in order to make difficult to capture a city... to gain time for reinforcement, ships, and air-bombardment.

I also do not understand why Japanese Armies have gone to Siberia...

Japan probably was able to conquer all china with them...

But one key was probably UK, that did a great work in Deutchland, AND in minor axis countries !!!

Without that, maybe the Axis can destroy Russia.... and give another end

Yes, very strange. I need to check my installation, but I think I only got one of these two pedia entries: the one for the corp unit. (At least, whenever I right-clicked on a division unit and selected "Civilopedia", the description for the corp unit came up.)

I have the same pb,
but i don't remember for witch unit ?

I will give you more information, but it was exactly the same.

In city screen, i look at units, i see a tank (12/7/3 for ex), and after the right click i arrive in civilopedia saying tank is 20/16/3 for ex. (values are not exact).

I like the nature concept. But it did lead to some problems with the AI. Partly I'm a little biased because I had a militia guarding Asyut which got killed and resulted in the city being razed. I think there are too many nature spawns in N Africa. I don't know about the axis but I had nature all over Egypt, if MA or Germany had tried going on the offensive there I think it would've been tough to defend against both of them.
I think the nature are too strong in the sense that if there was axis and nature in the area, I'm not going to risk attacking nature. Other than the typhoon, I don't think they're crazy stong, just strong enough to make me think twice. I think it either needs a human player to keep it more realistic ie no icebergs off the phillipines, or weaker, so that they dont just roam around forever.

T-G:
I'm preparing a new version of the multi-player scenario and one of the changes
I made was to remove one of the three sandstorm-producing cities in N. Africa.
You are right , I had intended for nature to be played by a human player. I hope
to have everything ready to start a new game in a week or so. I will play nature
myself.

Here are the files for the new game. Some of the changes:
Reduced number of sand storm and gale cities.
Reduce strength of disease units, but made them invisible
reduced number of nature at start units.
Fixed several bugs, including missing stealth targets for U-boats
Added 2 new units, Allied mobile flak & Axis mobile flak (with tech Mobile war 3)
Changed Pyramids wonder to Suez Canal

Because of the new units and graphics you will have to DL a
new HOF folder. As soon as you confirm that you are in I will send you
the link to the DL.

There are 2 biq files, the one ending with MP_PT has the extra turn
(Nov. 1942) for the Japanese pre-turn.

Hi Eric,
here's my confirmation. I'll have another try at Germany.
However, shouldn't we start a new thread?!

Lanzelot

I wanted to give the players from the last game first choice to
pick a civ before I open it up to new players.

The Early Days

I've decided to post the correspondence between myself
and the other allied leaders. This first part covers the the
period from the start of the game until August 1942. I can't
find any early-game messages from That-Guy, must have
deleted them.

Roads to Destiny

The second installment covers August 42 to March 43. That
includes: Japan's disasterous first attack on Irkutsk and invasion
of India, the Americans gaining a foothold in Japan, the struggles
for Java & North Africa and the Battle of Baku which secured the back
door to the Middle East.
