Women take pretty much all the responsibility now. They are required to by biology. Except, of course, when men don't allow them to take responsibility by passing laws prohibiting it.

Contraception+abortion is fairly good at preventing a need to carry the fetus to term. If the woman decides not to abort the man can't get out of responsibility. Also it was a joke (matriarchy, srsly?)

The man could have used a condom or refrained from sex. So he really has no excuse.

I'm not sure you understand that contraception and abortion are also things one must take responsibility for. Abortions aren't magic wands that erase history.
