Im about to finnish my traditional first game on standard, and an very impressed at the speed and stability of the v33 build!

Now im left wondering,
Whats the recommended map setting for me, if i have this:
OS : Windows XP (64bit)
CPU : Intel® Core™ i7-2600K CPU @ 3.40GHz
RAM: 16
Video Card: AMD Radeon HD 6900 Series
Video Card Memory: 1.84 GB
Video Card Driver: aticfx32.dll

Considering I do not really enjoy waiting for the AI to think.

I think you should discover this on your own and find out what your system, play style, and patience can handle.

GEM map with 30civs is optimal for good hardware. Bigger than it will suffer a lot in late game.

You shouldn't have any problems going as big as you want to now with V33's Graphics Paging improvements. The main issue will be late game turn times, which will be over 3 minutes.

You can learn to enjoy :)
I mostly read historical books while playing strategies. For example now im playing Crusader kings 2 (its not even turnbased haha) for Wessex + reading Early medieval Europa by Roger Collins and it is really good combo :)

Oh the irony...
Check the modding forum for CKII, you might recognize my name... (Agot Mod)

Im mostly listening to audio books (Highly recommend Runelords & The Deamon Cyle) and odd documentaries (Highly recommend Ancient Alien Debunked, which is a MUST for anyone with an analytical mind and a cynical attitude!).

But still I just cant muster waiting for more then 40 seconds per turn...
The 3gig limitation on the engine is a real pain!
I usually end up playing at night (when i finally have some free time) and the long waits just make me more sleepy...

For me a better experience will be the smallest map, in which I wont have to "suffer" in the late game.
I'd like to know whats the "limit" without me putting hours and hours into a game to discover it on my own... or at least get a vague idea.

I'd guess probably standard, or maybe large, based on it bei roughly proportional to map area, and my GEM games leveling out around 2 minutes.
