I named myself Evil Tyrant because when I play civ3, that is what I am. I kill people, steal their land, commit genocide, and all sorts of fun stuff. I also would like to be a dictator in real life, though I doubt it will ever happen.

Its my name.
I'd like to change it though...as using my name for the internet, even with a name so common that I wouldnt be stalked, doesnt strike me as right. Im open to suggestions.

Quinzy is an inherited name, a variation of Quinn, my surname. My dad was called Quinzy, and still is. from there, his friends, when i was younger, called me Quinzy too. then the name spread to my friends and others. The name stuck, plus i think it sounds cool.

and yes, i use it on all other forums

Equilbrium + Grammaton Clerics = Cleric

reminds me of 'quincy' that detective program :)

I got mine from one of the characters in the Highlander TV show back in the 90's. Though the character was pretty cool, I mostly liked the sound of the name.

For those of you who didn't watch the show Methos was one of the original four horsemen and was over 5,000 years old.

In my D&D forums I use Methos or a variant of it, but in my caving forum I use my first name.

I own one:
2004_oct-22_caprice_60percent-70_cropped.jpg

It is a 1978 Chevrolet Caprice Classic sedan with just over 60,000 miles on it, equipped with automatic transmission, power steering (still works), air conditioning (also still works), and cruise control (works about 90% of the time). Otherwise, it is about as basic as a car can be -- I'm not sure anyone makes a car so basic anymore.

I picked mine because I lack creativity. I probably agonized over it for 15 minutes or so, and this is what I came up with. Sad, no?

Most other places on the 'net I go by DrewHoo (Drew is what people call me, and Hoo because I go to UVA; of course, it's also a play on boo-hoo, yoo-hoo, etc.) In fact, I've been mulling over a change...

Well in grade school i was made fun and teased a lot most offten with the nickname of woody, and well a few years later people keeped calling me woody, but slowly became a ummm cooler (for lack of a better word) nickname to have. ten years later all my friends still call me woody. Also my nickname has sometimes a good conversation starter at bars/partys.

and well 60707 just happens to be my zipcode, being that for some odd reason the username woody is taken all the time

And lo, the day was dark.
He who is Thunderfall came unto me, and sayeth:
"Thou shalt register, and thy name shall be Turner."
And it was done.

I first found this forum through the World History one, while searching for random historical opinions and views, and I wanted to join...so I picked Atlas14 cause we used to have a literal history genius at our middle school in my grade, but later became valedictorian at some other school, and so I used his last name cause I became very interested in history through him. I put 14 on the end cause that was my soccer jersey number on varsity at the time.

I got the name from a funny short story by Herman Melville. I use it as a username whenever I can, but it's often already taken.

"Eran" - a nickname I gave myself, from Tolkein's Elvish languages. It roughly translates as "The one who walks alone".

"Arcadia" - the city in CA where I served an LDS mission.

Putting them together - inspired by the TV show "Joan of Arcadia".

I use it everywhere I can. Some places just give names from email addresses, though, but my email is a variant of "Eran of Arcadia".

But Thunderfall looked in his registry and exclaimeth:
"Lo, that name is probably taken, whouldst thou like to register as Turner_727, at least until we can maketh thee a moderator?"

;)

You mean it has nothing to do with how you use Turnip Green?

(You're supposed to link to the thread where you link to the thread where you link to the thread where you link to the thread where you tell everyone where your name actually comes from, duh...)

And lo, the Prophet (mod) named Turner
Said from the mountain top:
"Heretic! Do not defile thy monitor by
using the Green from Turnip!
Nay, instead, the Good Lord sayeth unto me:
'Use the holiest of holies, Dark Blue.'
And I made it so
and all was right."

Westwood's Command and Conquer: Red Alert 2, provided me with a most amusing villian upon which to base my username when first using it online. Affixed with a number, it then migrated to other evirons and established itself as my standard screename.
