How do you choose the next computer game you want to play?

Normally Steam game sale or Humble bundle has something that catches my eye and I purchase it to try out
I also have a few free to play games to boot up for a short gaming session such Crossout

I've vowed not to buy anymore game until I play those gathering dust in my Steam library.

I tend to focus on building games. Even in Civ, if I get into a nasty-looking war, I'll pack it in.

Feel free to donate any of your spare HB codes to people via the Gifting Games thread. :)

With the exception of occasionally playing whatever games my son asks me to play with him (usually old school Nintendo, Genesis, or N64 games), I stick pretty much to Sim City 4, and Starcraft 2.

I used to play X-Reunion, but I haven't done so in a long while... and I haven't gotten around to re-installing Civ 4 since my hard drive went kaput and had to be upgraded to Windows 10.

Once I get a new faster compy, I plan to go get Civ 6. I'm thinking that by then they will have worked out all the best Mods, DLC, expansions etc. :D

Sean Bean isn't Nimoy, but he's pretty good!

Does he narrate Civ 6?

I haven't played Civ 5 in a long time... the 1UPT thing is annoying for the purposes of moving non-combat units around... and I don't like the direction they went with the graphics... everything is too small and similar-looking...

Anyway I digress... when I did play Civ 5, I used a Mod that put Nimoy's voice back into the game for any technology you researched that was in Civ 4. It was cool:D

IF there was another Bethesda like Skyrim, I would just jump on it. Open world, non-linear, all I want! :)

I look for the newest game with "Far Cry" or "Wolfenstein" in the title, then when I'm done with that I go back to losing at Age of Empires 2 HD until it's time for the next one.

Have you tried Far Cry 5? If so, thoughts?

I only play, like, three games, so it's generally not that hard for me to make a decision.

I'm assuming at least two of those are Paradox games? (It's like that for me as well.)

Almost beat it. It's good! There's a bunch of cowboy guns and you can make friends with a grizzy bear called "Cheeseburger", 5/5.
I find myself turned off by the cowboy guns and prefer 4. :( I'm pretty bummed about it honestly, I was really looking forward to this one. What platform are you on? If you are on PS4 I'd be tempted to get an online subscription to co-op with you.

I actually haven't played a Paradox game in a looooooooong ass time.

I play an absolute asston of Rock Band 4. Game 2 is Lords of the Realm 2. Game 3 is variable, but usually Dark Souls or a generic shooter or something like that.

X-bone, I'm afraid.

And there's still the usual array of military weapons, and even the bow. (They justify it on the grounds that Montana is apparently full of bow-hunters, which: maybe?) I just like the cowboy weapons because they're loud and obnoxious, even if I had to give up the repeating rifle because four rounds is not a lot of rounds for somebody as bad at aiming as I am.

Meh, let's be honest, the only reason it was fun to hear Nimoy reading the tech description, is that he played Spock before. His diction wasn't anything special.
(in fact, I don't really get the point of using celebrities for reading spec, the acting is pretty nonexistant and obviously visual recognition is absent, so it's a lot of money for very little added value)

You say that, but remember the Sid Meieieieier additions for BtS...

I wasn't even aware that the guy reading was Sid Meier, TBH. It was "the voice of the tech from BtS". Kind of make my point :D

As long as this laptop (almost like dinosaur) will be able to run Civ4 BtS, that long I won't need new computer and I will use saving for riding with bicycle instead :D
