Racism is horrid, but you can see how some people have such views as around my area large groups of asians go around beating whites up, happened to us in a park.....not much happened i only got kicked in the head a couple of times, next week exactly same park a guy gets all his teeth knocked out by another group of asians.....

I'm not defending racists, i just dont think you can hate them purely on the fact that they are racist, they have their reasons to hate.....

Echoing what others have said, but with the Iggy twist, (sounds like a dance to me).... anyway I digress.
We are naturally tribal / racist to one degree or another. It does effect our judgement to the extreme points of being vile or over compensating (read "patronising") for our racist state of minds.
Using race as an intellectual reason for causing someone anguish is, as the questioner asked...dumb. If one is in the ethnic minority in ones locale, then having a chip on your shoulder about it can also be dumb.

I was one of the 'no comments' and I wasn't joking - obviously making assumptions about an individual (and more to the point, using it in evaluating that individual's appropriateness for school or a job) is unethical, but on the other hand there are differences between mongoloid, caucasoid, and negroid races - a glance at world-class sprinters would tell you that.

Well statiscally that doesn't prove anything for sure. The correlation is maybe due to the fact that "negroid" are more keen to practice sprint because of social reason not because of their color. If I follow your reasonning then:
1. jewish are a "race" of doctors and lawyer: just open any phone number's book at the Doctor or Lawyer section and see how many Goldmann, Levy and Cohen are there.
2. French is a race of "chefs"
3. Kiwi is a race of rugbyman
4. Brazilian is a race of soccer players
5. Sicilian is a race of mafioso
6. Egyptian is a race of "kebab"er

You are correct, I have no statistics, and I would give a lot to see a serious study of the matter. But, you are following my reasoning too far - clearly there is a sociological component as well, particularly with regard to percentages among professions and such. You are also following my reasoning incorrectly - you refer to nationalities instead of races (or clines), and you are suggesting that all of a race is of one profession, whereas I am postulating that a race may have advantages in a profession. If you're going to use a slippery-slope argument, at least use the right slope.

But in any case, I don't think that we should dismiss the possibility that the same thing that varies melanin and skeletal differences might also lead to better or worse physical abilities.

Recognising ethnic differences is NOT racism.

Seeing a Jewish lawyer and assuming they are better than a non-jewish one IS, as is seeing a white sprinter and assuming that they are not as good as a black runner.

FWIW my amazingly nice older neighbour said to me last night "They should give all the blacks £100 and send them back on a ship from where they came, then pull the plug out half way back." I responded "Does that include those that are born in this country?" (hoping to point out the absudity of his statement), but his reply was just "Yes!".

I hate racists, and this is NOT anything like a racist hating all blacks as Ancient Grudge would have us believe. People don't choose to be black, but they certainly choose to hold racist views.

There are different aspects to different races.
Examples:
1. The vast majority of the US is white skinned. Take a look at the NBA.
2. The average hight of a chinese person.
3. The average length of a dark-skinned male's *cough* (I am not joking about this)

Just as ther are physical differences between races, I am sure there are mental ones as well.
However, I will NEVER hate or discriminate anyone just because of thier race, which is the true definition of racercism.
