How has CFC changed you?

I'd like to say yes, but I don't think CFC really has. This forum acts as a great memory log of my failures and how I covered up my real personality/life through illogical acts. I'm a big fan of Civilization so there's nowhere else I'd really go and I typically don't try to develop new communities. Besides this forum I have actively involved myself in one other and that's about it.

I'm used to this place and there's no reason to leave. It doesn't take up valuable time, none of my interactions here are hurting me (not that I interact very much anyways), and I'm not in over my head.

I used to have friends from CFC when I was younger. Heck, I was even heavily involved with that April Fools replacement forum that was nearly a success of its own. I once had someone from CFC on my Facebook. But that was years ago. These days, I do not speak to anyone from CFC outside of the forum.

See, not two years ago I had a healthy interest in that... country. But all that changed when the Fire Nation attacked. Now I have a Pavlovian association between P0l@nd and serious irritation.

I learned from CFC that just how many different opinions people held, and that yours wasn't only right one (I joined here when I was in 8th grade, give me a break on that one ). Reason being, this was the first forum site that I joined, and I don't think I discovered YouTube until later in the year (yes, I sort of was a sheltered kid back then).

I'm really tired of the "hate Poland" thing going around here. It was never that funny, it was a way bigger response than the annoying jingoistic posts that produced it, and it's gotta stop.

Ah, yes, I unfortunately got more involved in CFC when the golden age of CFC Polandism was dying down, though I enjoyed the silver age of such. In the modern era, Polandism, while supported admirably by a few such as Domen, is a shadow of its former self.

It certainly has flipped my opinion on economic policy, I was a pretty hard-lined conservative only a few years ago (Thanks Cutless and Hygro!). CFC has also helped my confidence in entering debates rather than lurking 100% of the time.

O.K. Sounds like it was some biblical scope of catastrophy regarding the Polish chauvinism on here and I must have missed it too but I remember some year ago these religious/political threads concerning pro-life and pro-choice which I admit were bit annoying but nothing one couldnt easily ignore...

There was an enormous crapstorm about Poland not being in BtS fueled almost entirely by loud nationalistic Poles that flooded the forums, and this rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. People trolled the Poles as a result and the Poles became more annoying, until eventually people got bored.

Well I doubt it was more then couple of threads at a time but yeah any country in the game from an eastern Europe except Russia is more an act of compassion really... But its the past and past is dust and maybe its a time to start loving Poland again .
