Unwanted personal unions are so annoying. Nothing worse than getting stuck in a PU with everyone's favorite punching bag.
My Timurids game (1435 AD) is out of control.
I am currently suffering from Overextension, which is actually fairly accurate. All my potential strong rivals are paying tribute, and I am conquering Greece from the Venetians. The Horde, my ally, is exacting tribute from literally everyone they border to the west except Transylvania, who won't last long. This game might actually result in the Hordes lasting a really long time because of that.
My two temptations are to (1) push my luck and take one of the Horde's provinces that borders Hungary, and invade Europe, ideally conquering Italy for Hordekind, and (2) to push east and conquer China for the Hordes. The latter is probably the less stupid of the options. I might have to play through from this save twice, following both options, just for the experience.
My ideal goal here is to Westernize (at least once) as the Timurids and become a Semi-Advanced Horde of Doom. As a technological equal thus far I've already proven to be a horror for the world; even with 75% tech rate, a semi-westernized horde would be a nightmare.
The only problem is those pesky Knights. I ain't got no boats to conquer them with (being a horde), so I can't do anything about them until someone else sinks their fleet or bottles them into the harbor.
