How is your EU3 Game going?

It's actually rather easy to form Hindustan with Bihar or Vijayanagar. This was before the beta patch though.

I did it as Vijayanagar in about a century of lazy warfare.

EDIT:

1492 and China is being eaten up by hordes slowly but surely.

Thinking about getting this (EU3 Chronicles - never played any of them before). Having trouble downloading the demo though - will the actual game run on a computer that hosts CiV, or does it have greater requirements?

Just go and Unite italy as Ferrara, please? :please:

I tried that today :D It was after reading GLORIOUS ULM that I got the idea, but I wasn't able to get to a decent computer until now. It didn't go well; Naples r*ep'd me. Continually.

Eventually I started a Tuscany game at the 80 Year War start. I blitzkrieged Italy in 30 years and was in the process of waiting for cores when I left my glorious EU3 game. It was like watching paint dry. Also, I never realised how many CoT's the AI makes. SO MANY. And my eternal nemesis, Spain, was HRE, which was annoying. Eventually me and the Netherlands took all his provinces north of Spain proper. And he still wouldn't let me even take a New World province. In the end, I offered everything I had to him; and it said they would reject. So I reloaded as Spain and made them give the Netherlands Belgium and me Luxembourg :mischief:

How do you play as Brazil? It declared independence in 1822. :p

start in 01/01/1750 as Portugal. hold alt and press 2 + 1. it will open the console, type in it : "event 1030", press enter and alt + 2 + 1 again to close the console.
now if i remember in vanilla there probably won't be any rebels when you do that, so tag switch to other country (like France, i will use it in this mini-tutorial) dow Portugal, switch to Portugal and give a offer offering Brazil release (or just use France to offer the deal to Portugal) then switch to France and accept it (or switch to Portugal if you sent the offer as France). after all this save and reload as Brazil. :)

Easily. Be sure to get HttT and DW though. They make the game 346874354684684x better.

Just picked it up last month. It runs fine. Enjoy.

1. Spam paintings
2. Hire 5-6 stars Great Person advisor
3. Wait for "Great Advisor" event. When it comes, don't select an option.
4. Declare war. Take -2 stab hit.
5. Select +2 stab option in event.

I kept a bad event open earlier for two years to wait to pay off the lesser of two evil options.

I'd say skip DW. It's better than vanilla HttP sure, but the latter modded is better, and given that the best mod - MMU - isn't out for DW, stick with the earlier expansion. :p

I'd say do not. Divine Wind adds a lot of features. While yes, there are fewer mods for it, it also has been out less than HTT.

Try as Tuscany at at the point where Byzantium is at it's largest (about 1405). You start as a 2PM and not an OPM

but then how you would be able to play ULM?!?!? if you don't get DW Ulm will get angry because you don't play with him, and you know what can happen next

I started a game as Vijayanagar in 1399, and have almost done it in 14 years. :smug:

I only need to conquer Gondwana and Orissa now, though getting Casus Belli against them will be a problem.

or just put all your investment in stability, hire a great artist, dow somenoe that will make both your targets come against you.

i've done it once, conquered almost every core, but thanks to wrong culture (that hurts even more in SRI) i got a lot of revolts, ragequit because was stupid, and i don't think India should have like 4 culture groups...anyway, the problem was that i had to keep sending troops to ceylon while using my 3 armies to cover the entire Empire -.-

In 80 years war start you're a 3PM. It's annoying that Tuscany's worth so much when you're not playing it - It's the richest province in Italy in 1399. I conquered it as Naples once and it gave me more rebels than my entire army. In one sitting. I was reading on the wiki that you can convert to Protestantism to avoid having to give up Rome, but it was giving me loads of rebels during conversion, which was annoying to say the least, especially since the smallest rebellion I've seen in Italy was 6000.

From the decent European powers, is there anything which would be at the same level of difficulty as the 1399 Byzantine Empire?

I thought of playing as France, since i like French literature a lot, but i fear it will be relatively easy after the starting wars with England.

Granada, start date around 1480 (or That small window of time when Castile is at war with Portugal while they're full of rebels) I used patriots to take control of all the Andalusian provinces (minus Andalusia) and then set off to the New World.

But there is a bit of a problem: my colonies don't produce any taxes (wrong culture and wrong religion because I'm too innovative to produce missionaries)!

Spoiler :
The situation is pretty bleak due to our runaway inflation:

I have two options at this point: Release most of my colonies as vassals and continue to colonize or move my capital to the New World. The latter would be preferable, but I can't move my capital because it has 'too much' territory surrounding it :crazyeye:. In theory I could sell them to Castile and then hope Patriots return them to me once Castile is weakened but I don't like the odds of that happening before they declare war on me. The only thing I really have going for me is that as soon as I unpause the Ottomans (who I can and will ally with) will DOW Poland, whom Portugal is allied with. The Ottomans should be getting an Iberian foothold if that war goes well.
