How is your EU3 Game going?

A regency can be better than the monarch tough, only downside is that it limits your diplomatic actions, but in ruling the nation? It isn't that big of a obstacle unless your heir is very, very awesome and/or the regency sucks

It gets very annoying that sometimes you can be unable to declare war for up to 15 years, though, and Regencies absolutely destroy your legitimacy unless you have tons of Royal Marriages.

Valid points. Unless your monarch is really bad and the regency very good a monarch will usually be better.

I'm playing an Austria game right now to try to get used to the HRE. I've become emperor and I'm now trying to pass some Imperial Reforms but none are voted through. Should I just schmooze the other countries to great relations and lower infamy? Also, to get Imperial Authority built up faster, should I release some nations I have annexed?

Low infamy, good relations, good trust all help you to pass reforms...

As for IA, defending the HRE (or yourself) from foreigners helps, forcing other countries to release HRE states is great as well (use Liberation CB from Bill of Rights NI), an alternative is just releasing countries you've annexed, like you mentioned.

Just vassalize everyone. Making them your junior PU partner also works. They'll always vote for you and your decisions.

Easier said than done but still, it's doable and it's the most viable way of working inside the HRE.

If he waits long enough he'll get Nationalism + Imperialism CBs (if the reformation was weak, those can help) so it gets kinda easy. If the reformation was strong however, he's better off with US NI for Cleansing of Heresy CB

I like this one.

So I finally got to continue my Dulkadir game...
Spoiler :
ioemfn.jpg

I just annexed the Mamluks (unfortunately they moved their Capital to Judea and not to Kargah when they lost Cairo, I would gladly have left them around with a junk province ) and am very close to reclaiming my starting province Mus (currently back in Timurid hands, but occupied by the White Hand who vultured the Syrian coast off the dying and bankrupt Mamluks) now. :)
I also have the mission to conquer Mecca, unfortunately Hedjaz happens to own Socotra, so I can't take it until I get my first coastal core province in the Red Sea, Nile, in 1514. I currently am occupying them, hoping for vultures to strike and take Socotra off them, but not even Yemen seems interested to reclaim its core there :(
Sliders are set for westernisation now, I'm still a Tribal Despotism though. The death of my current Chief will be problematic, and not just because his good admin skill is the only thing that keeps me from being overextended ...
Mutapa and Adal are still my vassals, Swahili was devassalized and chewed upon, the plan is to somehow relocate them to Zanzibar.

Sicily was becoming a dominant power in the Mediterranean, they got struck with two subsequent peasant wars and lost a war against, of all things, Dauphine though. Good for me, seeing as I border them and they hate me for no apparent reason. Meanwhile, Castille is largely staying out of North Africa for once, which is good. Instead, there is Denmark and Burgundy, but at least not Castille.
Also, considering they are animists with their capital in Tedimekket, dat Tripoli. The land is not that good, but I still might want to annex their mediterranean coast for low infamy, before someone else decides to do so...

I like this one.

Couldn't hurt, but Castille still gets the Holy War CB, and all those North African states are guarranteeing Grenada, so I don't think it'll keep Castille from blobbing acoss the Southern Med early in the game.

Side Note: Any tips for playing the Teutonic Order? I just started a game up, and it looks like it could be fun.

Ally Austria, Bohemia and possibly Muscowy to kill Poland and Lithuania, after you eat both you'll be able to go for Siberia before going west, or try to help Russia form (annex everything and release super-Muscowy, break vassalization and stay allied?) and go west at once.

EDIT :
This.
