When were you born?

I had no freaking idea so many people here were so young.

I've been arguing politics, morals, and ethics with 14-year olds. Just shoot me now. :p

Showing age now:

When I was 15 I didn't want to and didn't understand enough of politics to be able to discuss it. So either politics has become more ... ahem ... understandable (not for lack of another word, but for sheer abundance of alternative ones) or 15 year olds have become smarter.

I think it's a little bit of the latter and a whole lot of the first.

Rather interesting that we have almost a normal distribution in ages, despite the self-selected nature of the poll.

We've proved we can be smart even at a young age:mischief:

There's no question a lot of you younger guys and girls are very intelligent. I'm often impressed by your grasp of difficult concepts and command of language. :goodjob:

But what you don't have is a few decades of life experience, during which most people develop their own ideas and identities. At 13, you think you know a lot more about life than you really do. (And that's true for me, you, everyone.) I don't mean any of this to sound insulting or belittling, so I hope it doesn't come off that way.

You young 'un have the big advantage that you've got a crapload of information at your disposal. I talk about all sorts of stuff with my nephews. One has taken a liking to astronomy and we were talking about the spacetime and black holes at a party and he's also around 15  (I'm a terrible uncle, no idea what age they are exactly) People were thinking we were talking about a game or something, since it sounded all so weird.

I fear the day he discovers Quantum Mechanics.
