And here I thought us Texans were tough. Afraid of a handful of schoolkids.

im not, This is something SAISD has done to try to keep the education system going down there.

without immigrint's america is screwed. america needs the cheap labour.

What should happen to the American corporations that employ them?

Huge fines, like 20 or 25% of their yearly profits, or something similar. One of the biggest reasons why illegals are such a big problem is that corporations, especially factories and farms, are willing to hire illegals even though they know they are hiring illegals. why would they do this? because they don't have to pay illegals minimum wage, since illegals don't pay taxes. illegals take the money happily, even though its only a few bucks, because a few bucks can buy loads of **** in the ******** that is Mexico. if businesses refused to hire illegals, then illegals wouldn't come here since there would be no work for them. instead, businesses are content with breaking the law as long as more $ is made. thus, fines and jail time is necessary for the company, and deportation for the illegals.

America doesn't need illegall immigrants at all.

Most of the legal immigration going on is not for cheap labor. The way the system is set up now, if no illegals came over, the legal immigrants would be taking decent paying jobs and the low end jobs would be filled by the natives. Kind of a backwards policy if you ask me.

explain that, your from germany no offense, but you have no idea about whats going on over here

No, its true. Without immigrant labor, (be it legal, or illegal), the service and construction industry will collapse. people prefer to go on welfare, or hustle than it is to take a sucky construction job.

Before my dad became disabled (and eventually died), he ran a painting business in Columbus. He had to close up shop in 2000, as did many of his competitors...because of lack of labor (and they didnt want to hire people without paperwork)

You prefer construction? Wow, your aiming high.

But you know the more people move in, the more houses there will be to build...

Have you turned any of the companies in? If so, what has your state government (run by Governor Good Hair Rick Perry) or federal government (run by President George W. Bush) done about it?

Consider coming to Dallas. There is so much construction going on that the comapnies are forced to pay better wages.

how dont i? the turkish here dont count as immigrints? the turkish that (seemingly) still come here dont count?

America needs cheap illegal labour. no matter what you say. without things would be more expensive.

wrong, in Texas they are soon to make it a bi lingual state meaning ill have to learn spanish, and so will all future generations because these Mexicans wont speak english, so we have to change for them. Its hypocritical that we have to change for them, they live here, they should change.

I get shocked whenever I hear some Americans' come out so clearly against learning a foreign language. Mexico, much of central and south America are Spanish speaking, not to mention Spain itself. There is no harm in having your children learn another language in school and it certainly doesn't mean that they'll lose their English. These children will simply be in a better position, no matter what they want to do in life, and so many more doors will be open for them, especially if economic development in Latin America and Spain continues.

In Canada, there are some Anglophones who resent having to learn French. However, it's an important part of Canadian culture and is also spoken by a large variety of people. For top government jobs for instance, it's a requirement to be bilingual.

For example, I speak English, German, Russian, need to work more on my French and am currently learning Arabic.

Is there really a reason to be so strongly against bilingual education? Why deny the children of your state such a great opportunity?

On a side note i was thinking, every leagal imigrant who becomes a us citizen should have to serve a minimum of 2 years in Public service of some kind.

Again, arrogance. You live directly north of a Spanish speaking country. It pays to know Spanish. Besides there are many bilingual education programs out there.

Why not extend the public service to every citizen?

The great irony of everything is that we're Hispanic Immigrants. :)

That is a pretty ignorant statement actually. Plumbers and electricians who work the trade for some years can end up owning their own companies, making hundreds of thousands of dollars per year. The plumber is considered to make a poor mans attorney wages.

Obviously you only speak of the laborer construction worker, who indeed only makes $8-12/hour and doesn't have much of a chance of rising the ladder...except to the roof maybe.

Construction is actually very lucrative.
