Oh well, sorry. I guess I was expect to much of a magical every-one-gets-along solution... ...we're just all stuck here I guess. :p You win. ;)

YAY I win!! I didn't even need to use Godwin!!

I wish there was an easy solution and people could get their act together but alas man is a flawed beast.

An honest, practical solution would be to reform the process to become a legal citizen (make it easier, or at least make it quicker)...stick national guardsmen from Arizona, New Mexico and Texas on the boarder, and impose stiffer penalties.

Its impractical to deport all of the ones that are already here...we dont have the resources, and it will do nothing to address the root of the problem...but it isnt something we can ignore. We have to address everything, or this will bite us in the ass every 5 years.

Brand them and send them back.

to answer the OP, when a person is discovered to be here illegally, deport them back to there home country. there's no need to go knocking down doors, but if someone can't provide an SS number or a valid driver's license, it's time to get the courts involved, etc.

oh, and btw, it's not our job to fix Mexico or any country for that matter. instead of the illegals running here for $, why don't they form a political party or something down in Mexico and try to win, then give $ to the poor? or some other legal solution, that doesn't result in moochers taking American jobs and money.

But alot of these people are hard working individuals who want to work, and should work, why cant we grant citizenship to them?

Let me add, that i cant read any of your peoples minds, but honestly, if you couldnt find work in mexico and had to support your family would you do the same thing?

It just shows that these people are going to great lengths to prove themselves able to work in the united states, and i beileve hard working workers would be good for the economy.

So why not make them citizens?

they had the opportunity to come here legally, but they didn't want to wait in line. now they make things worse for real Americans and immigrants who come here legally through the legal processes.

and your argument can apply to any criminal on this planet.

don't put the bank robber in jail, he works hard in landscaping.
don't put the murderer in jail, he was a great construction worker.

Your such a hypocrite if you honestly think you wouldnt do the same thing to try to support your family or loved ones.

Ive been to mexico, in many places its like IMPOSSIBLE to find work.

Because we cannot support an indefinite amount of immigrants.

We dont know that when we arent letting them come in legally period.

Im sorry but dont give me that BS, that everyone can come here legally if they want too. It doesnt work like that.

Some people cant afford it, and many people cant wait in line for years without even garunteeing access.

Our immigration policies arent helping either.

Doing so would make me a criminal. And I'd have less respect for myself if I were a criminal than if I couldn't support my family. Less respect for my father likewise ect. Rather fail honestly...Besides, I must reiterate, that is Mexico's problem, we do what we can to help all the time. If anything I think people expect too much of us..

Be realistic, being a criminal to the xenophobic american government is on the least of thier minds.

If you couldnt find a job in your neighborhood, you were desperate (i mean DESPERATE in a bad situation like many poor mexicans),lived on the border, i think you would go across.

Highly irrelevant...

Xenophobic? How so? Having borders is Xenophobic? Even I think the policy should be changed but for goodness sake.

Xenophobic? That's becoming a word abused as much as racism.

Nah, the bush administration is VERY xenophobic. The next big thing to them besides the war in iraq, is trying to get rid of all the illegal immigrants (another hopeless task).

Xenophobic would be trying to get rid of every immigrant of hispanic decent, legal or illegal. Even if they did want to deport all Illegals I hardly see that as xenophobia.

VERY? Bush has done nothing to stem illegals and his plan is to give them amnesty in the guise of temp workers. Bush is to the left of conservatives on illegals.
