As far as I know you have never beenable to that in other versions of civ - at least not in game.

I don't have civ4 either - so I'm not much help

Why do you want to change your colour anyway?

i don't have the game yet (hence why I'm reading these forums), but from what I've heard, I'd suggest you have a look at the XML files.

i always wanted to do that civ 3 conquests, cause sometimes civs would get the same color. would be great to be able to change colors.
(especially for me, since i am somewhat colorblind)
