Searched this thread, and someone brought this up, never got answered. So I will try again:

How to disable the save game overwriting warning (both regular saves and quick saves) - these warning messages are not there before the patch. Sometime it cause CTD. I searched the .ini file but did not see the line to do so.

Would anyone enlighten me please?

Maybe this is useful for other kinds of saves, but not for quicksave.

I really like how Civ4 has removed many many many useless confirmation windows (would you really like to hurry this, would you really like to click on this unit, would you really like to scroll left arrrrgh!!!).

Please God someone tell us how.

I like to overwrite the same save file.

Hey Firaxis, it's NOT an error. I don't want masses of saves for the same game thanks.

I'd like to know this also, it really defeats the purpose of a "Quick" save.

I know, I thought the same thing! A quicksave I would think is not meant to be archived away for future use, it's just a quick way of saving your game, probably incase of crashing really so you just go Shift+f5 now and then to make sure everything doesn't get ****ed up. Bah.

Incase of crashing i just editted my civilization.ini and set autosave to 1 so it saves every turn.

But still, this messed up quicksave is just dumb...

Say... that's not a bad idea.

I thought I would have seen a post to solve the problem by now... Guess not! Don't get me wrong, I really like the new patch and most of its new features. To confirm overwring a quicksave is kind of oxymoron, but I can still live with that if not 50% of the time I got crash to desktop.

Well, anyway I have to change my habit NOT to quicksave (before combat) - maybe for the good, so I cheat less :)

Well, i used to quicksave before using some advisory screens because sometimes when i go into an advisor screen and i go back, my graphics are ****ed up (color is all wrong, like extremely saturated) and the game is incredibly slow.

Now i just have autosave set to one turn and live with it.

Same here, I just delete the files before run Civ4. Some silly programmers make us annoying.

I also find the ack screen anoying. What I did was changed the .ini to auto save after every turn and stay away from the quick save for the most part. It is only a work around but I find it easier to live with.
