The thing here is that the site was, as every other site, made of words. It was just text.
And now the guy in charge is arested becouse the thigs he written was to "anti-patriotic".
HE WAS ARESTED BECOUSE OF HIS THOUGHTS!
And that is just plain wrong.
The US goverment acts like any other state who don't care about freedom of speach.
It does not seem clear to me that the cause of arrest was what was on the site. If you are engaged in criminal activity (we can debate this, but there don't seem to have been enough facts presented) they are going to take your computer. It doesn't matter if you have anarchist crap on there or civfanatics.com, they aren't going to just let your computer sit their when gathering evidence.
You've got to offer better proof than the statement from an anti-government person as they are being arrested. God knows when they come for me I'm going to shout out that it is unfair, and that they are just persecuting me for my views. Chicks dig it.

My college has banned this site, what happened? I live in a 'democracy' as well - UK - so I don't get the freedom to see these things.
Incidentally, why have so many Americans been brainwashed to think;
a) 'We are a democracy'
b) Anyone talking about freedom of speech (ie democracy) is a 'bleeding heart liberal' etc etc.
Can't they see that you aren't a democracy unless, duh! , you actually have freedom of speech?
At least in the Third Reich they only did what they were told because they were scared. In this country, people actually believe all that fascist stuff (we're a 'democracy', so lets kill, repress etc).

A little lesson in logic - prepositions should be formed according to logicallly feasible formats - not the sort of fallacies a first-term philosophy student would be able to spot (aka 'kiddies' etc). Concept script was invented a hundred years ago, so there's no excuse for not learning it.
Secondly, the capacity to interpret, question and criticise is a basic human capability which appears to have been expunged from the minds of certain persons - how and why, one wonders?
Thridly, I suggest you question why it is you feel such strong emotions and needs to 'defend' your government/authority etc. What is it about your psychological make-up that impairs your ability to analyse and reason as a detatched, intelligent human being? Is this voluntary or has it been 'educated' into you?

I agree with this to a certain extent but there must be restrictions put on what is said. For example libel, you can't say something about a person unless you can prove it. However can you answer where is the only place in Britain that libel law don't apply?
The warrant still has not been unsealed, which is slighly unsual after this amount of time.
Its is also possible he is being investigated for hacking (re the statment about "computer abuse" being investigated. The idiot publicly stated some weeks ago that he had defaced several goverment sites. I have not been able to find anything more about the reference to riot charges from last May in Long Beach.

I wouldn't be too concerned about this form of governmental oppression. There are plenty of anarchists, neo nazis, and other organizations that the American government is against that have websites on servers right here in the U.S., and the government is powerless to stop them. I am sure it would if it could, and the fact that it has not indicates that it doesn't have the kind of oppressive power you attribute to it.
