I HATE SuperDry Japan.

Never heard of it 'till now. I really dislike those bug-eyed sunglass snotty chicks seem to like nowadays.

I understand what you're saying. Around here, almost everyone owns a couple NorthFace Jackets. These people wear North Face rain coats when there's no clouds in the sky, and those fleece ones when it's 65 degrees out. I'm especially annoyed by a certain girl who post on Facebook: "getting a new NorthFace jacket, what color should I get:)?", at least 3 times a year.

As silly as girls wearing Ugg boots in warm weather (unfortunately very popular here in Europe) and spending a fortune for crap made in China just because of their brand name.

Never heard of the brand, but people will buy what suits them, Superdry japan may be entirely utilitarian. i see nothing wrong with buying popular brands, I see many people wearing Nike apparel and accessories, and I think that it would be quite foolish to hate them.

Ehh, people can waste their money on whatever they want, even if it makes them look like a walking advert for an oriental laundrette.
What really bugs me about superdry is the 'wub-wub-wub-wub-wub' you can hear in a 20ft (~7m) radius of the door to their store in my town centre. Now I have nothing against bass heavy dance music, I've been to a couple of raves in my time, but something about it makes me wish grenades could legally be used in public spaces.

It's not actually a Japanese brand.

Northface jackets are actually really good for multi-day hikes, especially the really thin ones. I bought one for my NZ trip and it was pricy.. but well worth it. I wear it pretty much every day.

No no no no i still agree with you Magellen, I'm just mocking TF's hipsterish tendancies/OTT intellectual analysis/nitpicking :D In a nice non-troll way ofc :D
And I'm happy to take it, because I'm not a hipster commie (and you'd be surprised how many of them exist!), I'm a leftcom, and we're the total nerds of the leftist milieu. However it may have appeared, my quibble was really less "I only listen to progressive dreamfunk" and more arguing-about-which-Swamp Thing-origin-story-is-better. ;)

The only thing that is really contemptible is the price.

Yeah, bloody ripoff. You're basically paying double the price to have a couple of lines of text on the back of your jacket. But, that said, if stupid people want to waste their money, that's their choice...

People will pay for the brand. How many people here overspent on a watch because it serves as a status symbol? This is pretty much the same thing.

So what's "oriental" about it?
SuperDry clothing is mostly worn by people from working class backgrounds.
For historical reasons, working class people in Britain are disproportionately concentrated in the East of urban areas.
Ergo, it's an oriental brand of clothing.

:mischief:

Don't even have a watch!

Yeah, nobody's buying that one. :)
