No.

It waters down the drink, and if I'm paying for a drink I don't want some of it substituted for tap water. Unless it's really hot that is in which case I value my drink being kept cold.

Cooled drinks I like. But unless I have a straw, I hate drinking with Ice. The cubes just bang off your teeth and give short sharp pangs of cold.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO ICE IN MY GOD DAMN DRINK

No, ice just doesn't do it for me- a combination of sensitive teeth (feel free to think "What a wuss!"), a dislike of having my drink watered down, and, most critically, the drinks I drink (alcoholically) don't have much going for them tastewise (think, white cider), so I prefer to get them out the way fast over struggling with the chill & the taste

What if the temperature is 40 degrees celsius, you are in a Bedouin Tent in the middle of the Sahara and you just finished a 5 mile hike though the desert. All the Bedouin has are hot cups of chocolate milk and an icebox full of ice. Would you have ice then?

I would use the hot chocolate (and 40 degree heat) to melt the ice and have a cold drink. NO ICE.

Generally I use plenty of ice. When I'm at school though I prefer none, as the tap water and thus ice there seems to have too much chlorine and so ruins the taste of the drink once it melts.

It totally depends on the drink.

That's it in a nutshell.

There are drinks that NEED ice, some are conceived with ice in mind. Many drinks are only good when drunk ice cold - so you either drink them straight down or use ice cubes.

Caipirinha and other cocktails are an example of a drink where ice is an integral part of the drink.
Anything with Coke has to be ice cold or its too sweet to drink. I drink my Whisky-Cola with: lots of ice, lots of whisky, easy on the Coke, for instance ;)

Ice in water, ice in alcohol, ice in juice, ice in soft drinks, ice in tea, ice in chocolate, ice in coffee, ice in everything! ICE IN EVERYTHING! :D

I especially like my iced chocolate and iced tea, winter no exception. I have no problem with hot beverages either, but I like iced drinks more. I usually drink faster than the ice melts anyway, and the ice won't be a waste because I crunch the ice afterward.

Over here, if you order a soft drink in a bar during the summer, you get one or two icecubes. That's acceptable. In the US, it seems like they completley fill the cups with ice (often crushed) and then add a little bit of soda. beurghhh . I always got very strange looks when I ordered a drink without ice...

Its 55 dollars for one! Ill rather crack open a coconut and fashion a cup myself and put ice then buy one of that.

So don't buy branded ones, I've seen them for sale at the dollar store.

Yeah, what he said. I just threw in the first link I found; I've got a set of four that I think I paid maybe $5-10 for somewhere along the way.

In the US, we're all about doing something as cheaply as possible, and ripping off customers as much as possible.
