If you were a superhero, what kind of cape would you have?

So, let’s pretend you are a superhero. Would you have a cape and, if so, would the cape be reinforced so it doesn’t tear?

Obviously, many superheroes have capes. Probably more superheroes who can fly have them versus heroes who do not fly. So the first question is whether or not you would have a cape.

Now, if you decide to have a cape then you need to determine whether or not the cape is reinforced or tearable. A reinforced cape means that if it snags on an iron point or something as you leap off a building then you wouldn’t fall over. You could also take off the cape and throw it into the propeller of your archnemesis’s prop plane to prevent his escape. However, if a foe drives a knife through you cape or otherwise grabs ahold of it then you’ll need to release the cape somehow.

But, if you have a tearable cape then anybody grabbing your cap will quickly be holding mere threads. A flying enemy can’t drag you by your cape into space and then drop you. That said, a tearable cape can’t be thrown in the gears of a giant death machine to muck it up.

Last but not least, capes are cool.

Edit: And I totally forgot to put in a poll.

I already have a labcoat. I don't need any other loose, flowing garments.

A purple cape will suffice. It will end a few inches off the ground and will be wide enough for the wind to catch it, just.

I have no time for reinforced cape nonsense, sheesh.

I'd only wear one if I'm already invulnerable, like Superman or Thor. It looks flashy, but it presented too much of a liability for me.

What about a cloak? Cloak of invisibility would be the only practical reason for wearing a "Cape/Cloak"

What about keeping your saves and NADs up? The cape / cloak slot is easiest way to do that.

The blue cape or the red cape depending on if I am flying around clockwise or counterclockwise. Of course, for the superheriones sharing my cave, it will be two superheriones, one cape.

These would also come in handy to correct for the doppler effect while flying at near-light speed.

The whole notion of capes being good for flying superheros is a strange notion. Who needs a massive streamer adding how much drag while they are trying to swoop in and save the day?

Call it a handicap.
