Illegals March in LA, angry about Bush's plan

Again, you have three choices:

1) Find a new tax base to prop up the insanely old-people-health spending that's coming
2) Cut the government size and benefits (HAHAHAHAHAHA ::cries::)
3) Default on debt.

So, choice 2 being an impossibility (much to my detest), and #3 being economic suicide, choice 1 is teh winnah

Dang right. I know I'm not MobBoss, but I sure think both borders should be heavily armed and guarded.

I don't think it is a very good idea to have armed guards on the Canadian border. We don't have a lot of problems with Canadians sneaking in and bringing drugs and organized crime. It would be a waste of time, $, and resources to post guards on the Canadian border.

btw, we need guards on the Mexican border, if i haven't made that clear yet. With a shoot at anything that's running and wading through the Rio Grande policy.

Probably not a surprise given the overall incompetence of the Bush Administration, but charging $3500 per guest worker amnesty visa is one of the most ******** "solutions" for the illegal immigration problem I've heard proposed in a while.

I think the bar for immigration into this country is being set far too high (or really, too narrowly), but I also don't think the current illegals are owed anything. I'd suggest item #1 on the to-do list would be eliminating the "if you're born on US soil you're a US citizen" law, so as to eventually eliminate the "you can't kick me out, what'll happen to my children" problem which irritates me to no end.

yeah, birth right citizenship for children born of illegal immigrant parents needs to stop. however, due to legal difficulties, a constitutional amendment would probably be required to get this done. and those are very hard to pass these days..

Well #2 would be and should be possible if the damn politicians would stop spending money on such garbage and start eliminating some of the American bureaucracy. I could name 3 departments that should be cut off the top of my head and if we stopped wasting national security $ on Wyoming landmarks and such and reduced our military by even just a tiny %, we'd have more $ to fix other problems.
