I'm a XXXXX because my parents are!

Im beautiful, cause my parents are.

I have wide shoulders, cause both my mom and my dad had em. Im of average height cause my dad was tall and my mom was not.

Other than that, nothing. I like to think for myself.

Ok so my dad had some good ideas about equality and such, while at the same time being a child beating racist (for some reason typing that made me ).

My mom is bathorsehockey insane, worst kind of facist there is. Poor woman.

Which party entices more liberals?

Now what did I do to warrant the rolleyes?

Just because I agree with some liberal policies doesn't mean I'm a democrat, or that I have to like the democrats. I think what pushed me so far left on that scale was my fondness for rights, not necessarily economic policy, though I'm sure it helped somewhat. This is why I prefer to identify myself as middle-of-the-road, because I like ideas from both sides, and understand that we need both sides for our government and society to function properly.

If they cannot think on their own they are just pawns, tools if you will.

Yes.

The Yankee, Proud Asshat!

You know it. (Plus it'd probably prove the suspicions of other people, anyway, and it's always fun to prove any stereotypes about me.)

I'll be the first to get their campaign placards.

I'm jewish because my mother is. If she werent jewish, I'd have to convert. (Christianity and 90% of religions are from the dad, Judaism and possibly Islam are from the mother)

...no... that would be being an ethnic jew... and that can be inherited from either parent...

Religon isn't genetic... unfortunately... coz then it might be treatable!

ask any orthodox jew. you arent jewish if your mother wasnt. then you have to convert. most conservatives do it that way to, but not all. pretty much no reforms, but judaism is passed on. we are a non-prostelyzing religion, which is why birth IS so important. I COULD SAY I'm A levi (as opposed to Cohen or Israel) because my grandparents both were

Yeah no kidding! My mom is so farking crazy that sometimes I wonder how my cool-headed, hyper rational dad could possibly have hooked up with her.:crazyeye:

Everything you are as a person is because of you're parents.

If you're dad was a drunk and you're mom a crack whore, you'd be a lot different then what you are today.
Probably haven't grown up from that rebellious teen phase.

Sure, some things you'll decide on you're own, but they say the apple doesn't fall far from the tree for a good reason.

the line of thinking reflected in the title (mob mentality?) is usually not good.

I don't even go for the same football teams as my parents...

The campaign rally's catchphrase could be "I'm surrounded by asshats!"

Asshats for America! AA for short.

Though I will say I'm doing what may seem like the typical spoiled child thing and am going to the same university as my father had 30 years prior...but, it was the best choice available and in a completely different field. Plus I'm not doing the whole night student routine (though I take plenty of night classes) that he had to take. So yeah...take that!

I'm much more conservative than both of my parents. My mom is a liberal and my dad is a moderate conservative. I don't let their opinions dictate mine, and people who do are too weak minded to think on their own.

What kind of bogus statement is that?

In my many travels I've ran across numerous peers who used this line. Perhaps I am a lucky one and think for myself and didn't have my parents spoon feed me political philosophy down my throat.

I can feel my heartbeat in my eyelid when someone says that. It screams out "I cannot make up my own decisions!"

Is "I am a Democrat/Republican/Asshat because my parents are!" a legitimate reason to be an idiot?

It could be. Kids are very susceptible to the many influences around them, and what's more influential to a young kid than mommy and daddy? So naturally one would suspect that any certain predispositions are going to have a pretty good likelihood of rubbing off.

I've gotten most of my political ideals from my father. Though I am far more conservative than he is. Mom is more liberal, and my sister is kind of the political opposite of me. However, when my father and I team up to wage a political discussion war, the team of Mom and Sis lose. Every time.

So to answer your question, I suppose it's a semi legitimate excuse.

Guess opposites do attract.

Too many people say this, and are unable to see that even when I point it out. It's at the point where I give up.

I disagree with my parents on everything except that we are very capitalist, which might have to do that we own a holding company.

Omg, Rederiet? :P
