I'll read some of the content later, but I think you might want to look at fixing that white space in the banner mate.

I certainly do want to look at doing that, but I thusfar haven't been able to. Any advice would be much appreciated.

You could try a different template, or take a look at this blog: http://bloggerfordummies.blogspot.com/ - it's a how-to for changing your blog around to suit yourself and getting yourself out of some of the pitfalls that you won't get fixed by talking to the Blogger staff themselves ('cause they rarely answer!). I've found this and a couple of other how-to blogs very helpful.

Well, remember how I was compiling a list of movies to see before you die? I was thinking about blogging about my thoughts on each movie. What I liked/didn't like etc. Since a lot of the movies are completely unknown to me, I'd probably also talk about what, in my opinion, made them that transcendent.

I was originally thinking about doing them on youtube, with the added benefit of actually being able to show clips from the movies to emphasize my points. But a general non photogenic appearance, and lacking the skills to make and edit videos very well has caused me to turn towards blogging instead. I'll probably try both methods this weekend, and the one I like most will be the one I'll go with.

- Picture is too big and compresses text too much to the right of it
- Black writing on dark blue background doesn't work so well; you say you've fixed it, but it's still bad on the eyes

Cheers! Constructive criticism is always welcome... as are comments on the blog itself! Yeah the picture is too big, I tried to get a smaller, suitable one, but got lazy. I won't make the same mistake again though.

You can get hit counter widgets to put on the side of Blogger I think...but that is one of the big reasons I like WordPress better, since it has a pretty indepth stats system.

As Defiant already pointed out, I think a dark blue background with a black text doesn't work that good. Experiment also with lighter text colors - maybe a very light gray could work with that BG (I'm thinking of something like the color of the sides of the blog). Also, I would change the white on the right of the column (below the light-blue box with your name, followers, etc). Looks a bit unfinished with that large swath of white.

Obviously, I'm commenting beside the point, but that's the best I can do with my limited time right now.

I thought it was actually quite comfortable to read. But a little lighter blue couldn't hurt I admit.
