Imperium Offtopicum: The Aftermath

Any tourists come here of their own accord.

The drugs that enjoy full legalisation are no more addictive than alcohol or tobacco, which are perfectly legal in most jurisdictions.

Any smuggling of the drugs into non-drug nations is expicitly prohibited, as with any other smuggled goods.

As it would harm tourism revenues, any travel bans will be reciprocated.

With regards to the boom in smuggling, the Federation openly announces that while it does attempt to stop smuggling, stopping the flow entirely is the responsibility of other nations; the burden is on them for trying to resist the flow of the market, not the MF.

---

Brazzaville and Brcko District are encouraged to adopt similar policies to the Marian Federation with regards to drug use. The state's status of being completely surrounded kind of forces this policy upon them anyway. Only so many border checkpoints can be established before Brazzaville looks like a prison and not a city-state.

In the case of Brcko District, it is stated that joining the ranks of states with liberal drug laws would generate more revenue and free up resources to fight the Abhorrent menace.

i forgot that. all drugs with a tax rate of 50% or higher cannot be smuggled out. forgein citizens, however, can still buy them.

but would you pay 400 dollars for the full set of twilight books?

That's the most hilarious thing I've ever read.

The Zulu Confederacy once again wishes to note the criminalization of all non-prescription drugs. Recreational drugs such as Alcohol or Tobacco may be used at the local clinic during breaks IF and only IF extreme stress has been dianogsed, and only sparingly using specially enhanced 'safe' versions.

SafeCigs have reduced tar, operates on a water-vapor system and barely any nicotine.

The Zulu Confederacy wants to ascertain any outpatient requests for such drugs shall be given, the only documentation is a easily-forged*coughcough* stamp on the travel visa of the outpatient, and the only price is that of the drug and the tax. All drugs must be used within the clinic.

New 'safe' stress drugs have come out for Alcohol (the Buzzing without the Hanging! It purges itself from your pores!) Cannabis (Watch the world slow down while betablockers prevent you from crashing into it! The inhaling without the cough!) and Heroin (Why snort and inject when you can use the patch? Rented external pacemakers are available to prevent heart damage.)

However, certain drugs seem to resist synthisization and safification. The Twilight Books have destroyed three research facilities and have give addictions to two more. All further research is banned.

The government expects a profit increase of 3827% and a decrease of productivity of 0.00000000000000000001%

To The Federation of the Savanna: That such information exists cannot stop swarthy drug dealers conning our citizens into becoming addicted.

To The Marian Republic: Even if those with full legalization are "no more addictive" than alcohol or tobacco, they still disrupt the moral fiber of those around them. Furthermore, the decriminalized but not fully legalized drugs are more addictive.

And due to its proximity...
To Brcko District: If Brcko District adopts such laws, Petrograd will be forced to call upon Kosovo to close its border with Brcko - surely an important trading route, and the only one which is stopping your district becoming completely reliant on the Marians. The revenue lost through the closing of this border would surely vastly outweigh any financial benefits garnered from the drugs trade.
_____

It was decided in the Duma to impose a limited visa restriction on traveling to the Federation of the Savanna - only those with state approval who have been vetted by the appropriate authorities may be issued visas to travel to this country. A full ban on issuing visas to those traveling to the Marian Republic has been imposed, until such a time as the Marians take a more proactive role in tackling the foreign drug run. Furthermore, a penalty of 5 years imprisonment has been imposed on any citizen who partakes in drug tourism abroad.

In light of the recent drug legislation spree, Lord Ravanius would like to state that his position on drugs has not changed. However, higher taxes will be imposed on both import and export of drugs to and from Hong Kong. This should prevent an increase in imports from countries with relaxed legislation, and ensure that we do not supply them to nations with stricter policies. We have also issued a statement dissaproving drug usage, as we do not wish our citizens to suffer their adverse affect.

Would Petrograd be interested in teaming up with the NCSA (and any other sane nations) to help stop the drug problem our nations are experiencing?

In related news, seeing how evil these banned substances are, the NCSA decided to try tests with them on Abbhorants. Jets dropped large quantities of drugs, alcahol, tobacco, and Twilight products over Abbhorant lands to see how they react. Hopefully negatively.

Update 10

Map updated.

Abhorrents have overrun Mato Grosso do Sul, North West England, Lower Saxony, Khulna, and West Kalimantan.

Petrograd issues visa restrictions for travel to the Marian Republic and the Federation of the Savanna over national drug policies.

Unofficial cease-fire between Monaco and San Marino and the rebels as both groups negotiate a peace settlement

News on the March

Contact lost with Borneo
With the residual Japanese garrison forced to flee the encroaching Abhorrent hordes, the island of Borneo has earned the unenviable distinction as the first major landmass to fall to the abominations. Neither Britain nor Japan, having held on to the irradiated wastelands out of pride, have voiced interest in reconquest as long as the island remains so heavily polluted.

A capital exclave
Abhorrent infestation of Lower Saxony has cut off the German capital of Bremen from the rest of the country. Airlifts have been hastily arranged and the army is expected to launch a counteroffensive soon; the city is expected to be capable of holding out for three weeks at least.

Monaco ↑2 - Petrograd ↓1

To The NCSA: Petrograd would be interested in assisting with the morally correct nations of the world in creating an international framework from which to help eradicate the drugs trade.

To basically half of Africa:

BROFIST!

to India in general: Hi. Again. Anyone interested in killing the Abhorrents?

To The Federation of the Savanna: That such information exists cannot stop swarthy drug dealers conning our citizens into becoming addicted.

we do have rehab centers you know. and we do tell every visitor that there are people who can and will con them into doing drugs. believe it or not, tricking someone to use drugs is still illegal, as we believe that drugs should be taken if the person is fully aware of its effects, and of their own free will.

people that have been (or nearly) conned will go to rehab and/or earn a stern lecture about falling or nearly falling for such trickery.they will not be reimbursed for the money used in buying drugs. and no, they cant take it with them to their own country.

the people conning others get a prison sentence depending on the severity of the drug involved.

Bolivar State in Southern Venezuela is colonised; the government hopes that this yellow zone's deposits of gold and gems will help the overall Marian economy.

Actually, Kosovo is entirely yellow zones.

The Marian Federation, on the other paw, is rich with blue zones. Besides, given the proximity to Abhorrent dens, the less resources spent on drug enforcement, the more than can be focused on this menace.

Kosovo has more to gain from trade with the Federation than Kosovo. Full stop.

The blue zone-heavy Marian Republic honors its word, and officially bans all travel to Petrograd. It wasn't hard to squeeze this past the PNSFM-dominated legislature with Petrograd firing the first shot.

Macedonians roll blunts in papyrus paper.

This is basically me saying that drugs are legal in Macedon, by the way. The Macedonian Congress sees no point in spending money to stop something from being imported that will get in somehow or other when it can tax it. A large portion of the tax revenue in Macedonia comes from drugs. This is largely due to most other taxes being ridiculously low.

Who is the government to stop people from licking toads?
