Imperium Offtopicum: The Aftermath

@ Vermont NPC: Do you acquire aid in liberating Indiana, or do you wish to deal with this on your own?
Vermont: We are in no position to intervene in Indiana in any timely fashion. You probably wish to negotiate with the Great Plains Federation.

@Illinois: Wanna join Macedonia again? We have cookies.
Illinois: We believe you are mistaking us for Indiana.

Really? That would have been nice to know earlier. Regardless, occupation wasn't necessary. If you had brought it up in the UN, all you are "supplying" could have been accomplished. Macedonia would have brought it up if we could actually get into the country.
Marathi Republic: A UN decision would be bogged down in roundabout debate with little understanding of the ground situation, and we feel time is of the essence. Besides, its utter failure to protect North Ceylon betrays its bureaucratic incompetence.

We are trying to avoid bloodshed while still applying pressure. Disrupting their economy through blockades and restrictions in Gibraltar is part of this process.
Cantabria Libre: The Marians are free to instigate an ineffectual blockade if they feel they have resources to waste; we are hardly an isolated territory. As for immigration, you seem to forget we share an open border with the NCSA. Had you taken a nanosecond to analyze the situation through reality rather than ideology, you would have recognized our relations with the NCSA render your interference unnecessary.

Indeed, there's the NCSA's European territories... we could always extend the trade restrictions to the NCSA though.

We understand the Confederacy champions the rights of self-determination and autonomy, but those values, while noble, should never be more important than addressing injustices.

Even so, any unjust laws would still stand, would they not?

Given the low opinion of the Kaetif in Cantabria, it is unlikely they have the resources necessary to emigrate.

I'm claiming 5 territories in West France this turn. I'll do RP later. But right now I have AP Euro. :suicide:

Illinois: We believe you are mistaking us for Indiana.

Um... you can join instead?

You waited for twelve years before invading. I'm sure you have the good of Hindustan at heart.

North Ceylon was a mistake, though. It can most easily be explained by the rest of the island having two big backers and everyone chickening out. Including Macedonia, because we didn't need another big war.

Oh, and look. You don't have any big backers. Or a large number of provinces. But that's ok, I'm sure everything will turn out peachy keen for you if you don't leave Hindustan by next year.

Petrograd orders the immediate withdrawal of troops loyal to the Marian Federation in Brazzaville.

Petrograd would be willing to use its navy to help the NCSA bust through any Marian-imposed blockade.

Petrograd sends an aircraft carrier CV Rurik with a convoy to patrol the Gulf of Guinea in order to push for peace and stability in the region.

On the outskirts of the half-built Kashmiri capital of Iskandarabad is Pakistan House, the official residence of the Prime Minister of Kashmir.

A panicked-looking aide, his long hair of a Sikh unturbaned and messy, runs up the flight of stairs to the second floor of the building and bursts through the Prime Ministers' office.

Prime Minister Rasul Iqbal sits behind his teak desk, looking much older than his 39 years. A pile of newspapers ("Petrograd Rattles Sabre", reads the headline in the Greater Kashmir) and government reports ("Global Heightening of Tensions Between Humans and Kaetifs") piles on his desk The Prime Minister is absorbed in a report on Marathi troop movements in Rajasthan.

"Sir," the aide almost shouts, "sir, you have to read this".

"Singh, can it wait?"

"Sir, I think you should see this now.".

Moaning, not from selfish laziness but from sheer exhaustion, the Prime Minister sits up while the aide place the file he was carrying on the desk.

The file description reads: "Abhorrant Infiltration in Himachal Pradesh".

We can chalk up Petrograd supporting the institutional racism against the Kaetif as much as statism, apparently. Goes to show how flawed the world police system is.

That's a bit close to the Congo, to say the least.

Macedonia would like to take the time to say that those who like to beat around the bush get no respect from us.

(this isn't aimed at Tanny, if anyone was wondering)

Monaco sends money and arms to Brazzaville in support of there right to self determination. Any would be aggressor should be aware that were gifting them a nuke and about 30 armored cars to defend them selves with. In other news Monaco & San Marino plans on adopting a new plastic currency to replace the old practice of using human skulls as currency left over from Kerry regime. Old habits die hard admits General Darkmatter as he chuckled, the new currency will be much more practical and should lead to a sharp decline in public decapitations.

1 nuke gifted to Brazzaville

The Sombrist regime ponders what it will do if the Brazzaville people use the nuke, rather than accepting a quick, mutually-beneficial integration with full autonomous city status in the Marian Federation. It predicts it won't be pretty.

The Marian Federation won't beat around the bush when it says that there are two states largely seen as having a hold over international affairs - the Hetmanate and Petrograd.

The Hetmanate is a progressive, peaceful, trustworthy state that leads by example. Its record for the good of all sentients, human and Kaetif, is solid. While their large stockpile of ICBMs is worrying, they do not exhibit much aggression outside the realm of reason. Pacifistan's initiative, furthermore, will remove any such worries from the collective mind.

Petrograd is a state that feels it knows what is better for its citizens than they themselves do. It is a state that would side with institutional racism because of some obscure "self-determination" rather than the cause of sentient rights (then again, given their virtual apartheid, it's understandable). It is a state that would threaten war to protect obsolete doctrines of segregation and discrimination; the Marian Republic would threaten it to abolish these.

We don't understand how states of such differing moral character could possibly be brothers.

The rising tensions are worrying to Hong Kong, but we are too busy fighting the Terrorists to get involved.

Macau, CEASE YOUR TERRORIST WAYS!!!

Using a nuclear warhead would most certainly not be in Brazzaville's interests; the fact Brazzaville is a fellow Congolese state and would be treated with respect aside, the whole Republic would surely demand the blood of every last man, woman, and child of Brazzaville if it was to go off. Going out with a bang is an irrational response that should be confined to works of fiction; if Brazzaville intends to fight, it is suggested it be done in a conventional manner, to minimise bloodshed on both sides.

The Marian Republic has seen a list of varying futures, from most peaceful to most brutal:

-Brazzaville, seeing that the Federation has no interest in a bloody massacre and is solely seeking to make Brazzaville a de jure as much as a de facto part of the Federation, peacefully surrenders and accepts annexation.

-Brazzaville fights, but is eventually beaten. The Federation will try to minimise civilian casualties in the event of this. It is hoped for it to be quick and bloodless. All Brazzaville soldiers will be given the chance to surrender before hostilities begin.

-Brazzaville fights, and uses its sole nuclear warhead. The Federation has no plans for what it'd do in this situation, but it fears it wouldn't be able to control its soldiers in such a situation.

Macedonia is curious as to how Monaco, which does not even border the Marians, could get 30 trucks through their lands into a city which is landlocked.

....this is true. Order seems kind of null and void, doesn't it? :mischief:

Yes, MM. I'm sure he's going to let you deliver a nuke to the country he's about to invade.

The Federation will have to pass on such a wonderful offer... ring of troops around the city being fairly solid and preventing much in the way of smuggling aid in. Then you have the no fly zone...

We are currently in the middle of awaiting Brazzaville's response... if they accept integration into the MF for the good of all Congolese, then the attack will not come. If they don't... well, pan-Congoism must be satisfied; Brazzaville is economically and militarily a part of the Federation practically. It may as well be politically as well.

Its planned for Brazzaville to enjoy an autonomous city status within the Federation, giving it the same privileges as a state.

To formalise an informal state of affairs.

They reap much from the Marian military; they will be able to pitch in once they join.

They reap much from the Marian economy; there will be no restrictions once the border is completely dissolved and possibly conflicting national interests with it.

The way we see it, Brazzaville only can gain from becoming the newest state of the Federation.
