Well, I think it has to do with that, the revised battle system, and the expansion stuff. This way you don't have someone coming in and claiming all of Africa in one fell swoop, as happened in the very first pseudo-game. I like this claiming, because in earlier iterations, the whole world was claimed within the first 10 posts, preventing everyone else from joining in. This way, we have 25 active members, and still room enough for at least another 5 if we really cram them in (and this is with all of SE Asia claimed by non SE Asian nations).
