I think his second change of state religion wasn't enacted, and right before it was enacted the Emperor changed his mind, it didn't affect the people in anyway.
I understand why he considered changing to Christianity, the pope has been putting a lot of pressure on him. However he made the right choice in allowing his people to be free, and allowing them to be ruled under him, rather then under the pope.

the Byzantines laugh at this so called directive.
as of now, the papal states cannot use, cross or go near Byzantine territory. if you still wish to visit, you must state so before you enter, otherwise any ships or troops caught in Byzantine territory will be arrested and deported to Rome. if we feel kind.

you cant. you have no army or navy to effectively blockade all of turkey.
however, unlike you i care about the people. the pope will not be blockaded until Israel is proven to be self sufficient.

Spare me, I am not offending God, I am offending a worthless pope who is to arrogant to be considered the leader of a religion as great as Christianity. I do not want war, but I refuse to allow the pope, someone who is suppose to be a pacifist blockade my 5th biggest trading partner.

All I am doing is trying to protect my allies from the wrath of the Pope
Me and Mathalamus, and any true Christian nations will see that he isn't the word of god and just an impostor. I would normally not be this agressive towards the pope, but as he is blockading Byzantium, I want to protect my ally.

I know there hasnt been an update yet, but Ill be unable to post until next weekend. So, I have to make my claims for the next two updates now, rather than when the official update is.
My claims for Update #3 are in Light Blue, and the claims for Update #4 are in gray. These claims are not what Id make if I was present at the time of the actual update. But seeing as I wont be here to defend myself, Im thinking it would be better to not make these claims to bold. For technology and military, as soon as possible I want my income to be use building another navy, ideally in the Sea of Crete. Before and after that, I want it to be split between the Civilian and Military techs.
Diplomacy-wise, all peaceful actions will have to wait. Although, I do think I should have a DP with Eastern Russia. My situation was the same as the one here:
Byzantium, for the love of whatever god your state backs at the time of this post, please try to lay low and hope the Muslims make a scene over something. Because that's about the only way Byzantium will go unscathed over the next three turns. And Morea would hate to miss it when you do eventually get DoWed

the Muslims wont make a scene over anything. as they do not have a religious leader, they can be more mature about dealing with issues.
