I’m playing one of the four bundled scenarios, this being “Resource Wars,” where 10 countries start with nuclear weapons.

Argentina took the Falkland Islands. I didn’t bother to protest or threaten them given their nuclear status and insane obsession with small islands populated primarily by sheep.

Good God, New Zealand is in danger!

I remember your Imperialism campaign with Sardinia/Piedmont. Can you pull off the same with Uruguay or, to honour Tim, Belize?

Shadow President only allows you to play the United States.

There's another limitation to this game, and that's if the Soviet Union abandons communism. I don't know how the game was coded, but basically it will cause something of a schism in the pro-U.S. camp and some countries will align with the now-capitalist USSR, even though they will stay friendly (although less than firmly aligned countries.) The Soviets, however, remain as hostile as they did under the communists. We go from Brezhnev to Putin. There's no Gorby and no Boris.

28TH AMENDMENT PASSED
PRESIDENT AMADEUS ELECTED TO THIRD TERM

NATIONALISM SURGES ACROSS GLOBE
WASHINGTON REBUKED
SOVIET INFLUENCE WANES
CZECHOSLOVAKIA, HUNGARY JOIN NATO

Is that even allowed
Why do you think I passed the 28th Amendment?

Twenty-eighth Amendment: the President is given full personal autonomy in setting the federal budget, the deployment of armies and navies, enacting foreign policy, and restricting the rights of the people when he so deems to be necessary and proper. The President may also serve as many terms as he deems necessary, provided he should decide to permit an election every fourth November.

This Amendment shall also take precedence over all other Amendments, and budgets and policies enacted
by the President are exempt from judicial review.

Aren't there any mods?
The game came out in 1992, I believe. There is a game editing module that allows me to swap countries’ governments, and I did just that to put the commies back in power in the USSR to keep them from breaking the game.

Hey I sunk the Japanese navy as NZ in Hearts of Iron II using battlecruisers. Fear those sheep!! NZ low manpower but navies and airforce don't use much and we have British tech teams, blueprints and the best infantry doctrine tech team in the game.

@Zardnaar, infiltration tactics?

Yes Freyburg is skill 7 with relevant fields.

Manchukuo of all places has a similar one but skill 6.

Played NZ in MP for a lark. Other allied players gave me blueprints and I researched all the infantry doctrines for the allies. Houserule no doctrine switching so no Australian Blitzkrieg.

All the Allies minors got funding from the majors and stole German blueprints and shared them.

With some IC building the commonwealth effectively had 12 or 13 tech teams as well.

All hail me!

PRESIDENT AMADEUS RE-ELECTED TO FOURTH TERM
U.S. ECONOMY RESURGENT, GNP +5%
REDS OUT IN BUCHAREST, JOINS NATO
COMMUNIST COUP IN MEXICO CRUSHED
ALGERIA FALLS TO U.S. BACKED MILITANTS
CIA: "CONFIRM NOR DENY" CARACAS UPRISING

Yeah, lots of rumors about that lately. Can't wait. There are changes I'd make to the story, and I'll regret dealing with Kai Leng again, but on the whole it's a great idea. It could help get younger players in on Mass Effect, and get ME3 MP going stronger, and I really regret not playing that in its heyday.

The ME3 MP was really quite good. It remains to this day the only MP FPS I ever spent any significant time upon.

All hail me, again!

My best friend and I are putting together an Among Us gaming group. With mics, so no tip-tapping.

I was wondering if anyone here who's on good terms with me would like to join it? Right now we're planning on playing Fridays or Saturdays at around 5 PM PST, so this might rule out any Euro people.

No solid dates as of yet, but that's the general expectation for days and time. If anyone is interested, I can invite you to a Discord server for it. I'd love to get more than 10 people total between us so that we can still play when people drop out or can't make it. Parties can be 10 people max.

What's Among Us?
Kind of like Mafia. Kind of not.

Between 4 to 10 people play. There are imposters among them. The innocent people have to complete tasks to win. The imposters have to kill the innocent people and avoid getting caught. When a body is found, the mics are activated and the people who are alive have to debate on who killed the victim(s), and then vote on who to kill (if anyone). Dead people still have to complete their tasks in order for the innocents to win, they just can't influence the actual voting process (their mics are disabled during the roundtable).
