There is clear difference (or the potential for that to be as clear) between finding someone's body as nice, and being attracted to them if they are not the gender you seek in sexual relationships. Eg i find some sculptures/images of greek gods/related as very good-looking, but i would not want to have sex with a man even if he looked like that.
That said, i think that it is far easier for one to find the other gender as attractive, than to find something attractive in another person of one's own gender. Likely because biology presents some set traits of the other gender as attractive in a generic way (eg rounded forms, difference between male and female face, etc) while the same would not really trigger the view they are anything special in the same gender.
(obviously other parameters also exist, eg females are said to form deeper love ties to both male and female parent, cause the mother is always of such a trait anyway, while for males the father is not argued to be paramount in such issues).
