In which we discuss corn dogs I - For batter or worse

Eh, just give me a good bangers and mash.

It's probably salad cream.

As far as I know, cornmeal is obtained from ears of corn.

But how much of either goes to make a corn dog, I wouldn't know. I'd guess not much. Just mix some cornmeal with some water, dip your sausage in it, and deep fry.

You use corn meal to make the batter for corn dogs. Yes, corn meal consists of corn parts. Parts is parts!

I dont know, whichever type of corn is responsible for corn dogs being named corn dogs.

Cornmeal doesn't contain corn? I would have expected it to.

It does. I figure you have a couple ounces of cornmeal per corn dog, but I don't know how much corn you have to mill to get a couple ounces of cornmeal.

At my favorite corn dog outlet the frankfurter inside is made of corn fed chicken, making it even more of a corn dog.

Arent frankfurters supposed to be in the red meat family?

I always considered them to be in the 'mystery meat' family. At least at my favorite place they freely admit their hot dogs are made of chicken, with 'all beef' available at a higher price.
