If you cant tell these are culture maps, well technically culture group maps, it is set basically right after the end of WW2 and right before the Cold War.

The Culture groups are as follows (organized by Region):

Europe:

There are also cultural "links" or similarities between culture groups, these are divided between "strong" and "weak" links

Some tips for culture:

Mexico and Centro America shouldn't be the same culture as South America
Africa should not all be one culture
Maghreb should be different (Bedouin) from the other Arabs
India and Pakistan should DEFINITELY NOT BE THE SAME CULTURE
India should be like a different culture in every province
China should be split at least north and south
Baikal/Siberia are more Altaic than Rus iirc
Belgium is Francophone, not Germanic
Newfoundland is Anglo-Canadian, not French-Canadian
The US south and US North/west shouldn't be the same culture probably
Brazil should not be the same culture as the rest of South America, and Portugal shouldn't with the rest of Iberia
Italy should be split in half
Ukraine should be Ukrainian, Belarus should be Ruthenian
Haiti is French yo
Switzerland should honestly just be it's own culture it's so much of a melting pot

Russian has been the majority nationality in Crimea since the early 1900s as well.

China and Japan don't really belong in the same culture.

Oh yah thanks, I forgot about that, again I have been working on this map for a while, ill change Crimea soon.

...those still apply for culture groups

ie, Belgium will never be put in a Germanic culture group
Africa should not be one homogenous culture
Pakistan and India still shouldn't be the same culture group
etc etc

If anything divide it into Berber, Western African, Abyssinian/Ethiopian, Swahili and Bantu groups. It's impossible to model *every* African culture but this gets closer than "all african cultures".

To all those telling me about ways to fix the map, I have decided to take the game in a different direction

Thanks to those in the Chat the game will no longer be set right before the cold war, Instead the game will be about taking a culture/people through the ages and seeing them progress, the game will start with the fall of the western roman empire.

On an important note, and one I should stress, I got my schedule for my first week of work.

I don't take a lot of credits hours (only 18 this semester), but those on top of my work schedule means I need to prioritize.

In that sense, Sonspiracy III and Peshawar Lancers (and sadly On the Riverside) are both put on hiatus to at least 1 June 2014, and I will be dropping out of all current IOTs I am in at this time.

Because lets face it, when I actually do get free time, I am going to want to plug away playing games I have backlogged on Steam, or finish reading the books I got for Christmas, not plug away another few hours on updates, keep track of everything I'm doing in a few IOTs, and frequent the chat.
