King Mswati was sad. Not only had one of his provinces revolted, causing four cities to temporarily leave the Kingdom, but the rebel organization that had fomented this revolt relied on false and misleading information. Maghreb, like most of the other provinces in the nation was fully industrialized, and had a strong middle class developing. The diamond trade had allowed for new and unique industries to develop, especially as this was the only place in the world that diamonds had been found. The numbers of jewelers, bankers and merchants were rising and people were becoming wealthier. Significant attention had been given to regional government and administration, so it was quite a surprise that the people had revolted.
What made matters worse was the evidence of foreign intervention. The Kings intelligence agents had discovered evidence of foreign meddling in the province. It was without question that the King wanted to know who was behind this. Perhaps it was the same nation that had attempted to lower the stability of the kingdom. Perhaps it was
California, who had attempted to steal the Kings plans and infiltrate his intelligence agency. More evidence was out there. The King just had to find it. But find it he will, and when he had the answer, he would make the people responsible pay.
But not his own people, who were so obviously mislead. The Kingdom of Swaziland is one of the most modern and wealthy nations on the planet. It has a very diverse population that is treated equally regardless of how they came into the Kingdom. In response to this revolt, the King would not send his troops, as so many would expect most of all the 'Akrab Badiyah who rely on fear and intimidation to get their way.
No. The King would not put this rebellion down with violence, but would welcome the cities of Maghreb back into the Kingdom with open arms. And of course some investment.
The King directed his administrators to invest a huge sum of treasury into developing all of Maghreb. New schools were to be built. Libraries and parks were to be built in the cities. Jobs programs to help those in need of work were to be set up. For the first time ever, people who had lost their jobs or were unable to work would be given a living stipend so that they would not starve. In short, the province would see an economic development plan bigger than any other in the history of the world. How big was this program to be? Well for starters, the King directed his treasurer to
allocate 100 IC to the re-admission and development of revolting cities in Maghreb.
The King now turned to his Generals. For not only did he face the problems at home in Maghreb, but he was also at war. At war with an ideology that he had already defeated once in South America. War had been declared on the USSR in support of the Kingdoms ally Russia. Together with the grand armies of France and Medina, Swaziland would crush the communist menace. But the details of that are better left for close friends and allies.
