Iron and Blood - Game Thread

Once again, sure, whatever.

But right now that's not what's relevant. What I need is a definite answer, do you want to commence peace talks that we will moderate? If not, just tell me, so his majesty and the Grand Kingdom can stop wasting our efforts on this issue and move onto bigger and more important things.

Al I require of Britain is Maghreb and Portugal. Sahel compensates for Maghreb, I should not have to compensate for portugal.

Spain, you're not listening. This is our final offer, do you want us to moderate a peace treaty between you two or not?

The specifics of this treaty will be deliberated during the talks, so don't mention them now.

Stop making lies up. Although, that seems to be typical of NATO members (at least you and Iceland) to lie, deceive, and in general have selective hearing, so to speak.

Please explain the lie. I ASSUME, you are speaking of the last sentence where I say you threaten me not to defend myself? Let me correct myself: You arent telling me not to defend myself, you are merely saying if I counterattack, to regain my territories and to occupy his, then you will jump in on his side? Oh yeah, thats ALOT better .

I do believe that the SRO, and the BA should stick to the baltic and eastern Europe, as this conflict is, to be quite frank, none of their business. They may claim to be 'peace keepers' but i believe that their words in response to this conflict have showed their true colors (or at least those of the SRO, who seems to think they can speak for the entire BA). If i want to pursue this war against my country until me and my allies control every last bit of Spanish soil, then I have the right to! Say, in a hypothetical scenario, Russia got an event and chose an option to war with the SRO, and Britain and NATO came in claiming that you could only attack back so far into his territory, threatening war as well if this is not obeyed, how would you react? Not very bloody well i would say.

I will enter talks but will not change my orders until it is resolved.

That doesn't sound like someone who wants peace, that sounds like someone who wants to continue a war.

EDIT: Clarification, these talks could last anywhere from a single day to many years (in-game time). If you want peace, it's best to cancel your orders for now.

EDIT2: The orders I am talking about are military movements only, if you are economically investing in a province, I could care less.

Bloody hell. I pull out of the peace talks China. If Spain is going to be like this the entire time, then I can see it will be a colossal waste of everyones time. I apologize for wasting what time you have already spent on this issue. We will be sure to favor you in trading once you capture a trade port with which we can trade with, in return.

Now if Spain were to recognize our previous agreement, and give back Mahgreb, then perhaps we could get somewhere. I have just as much of a claim to mahgreb as you, especially as you signed an agreement that gave the territory to whoever go there first...

EDIT: Of course if they wish to sue for peace later on in the war, perhaps you could mediate then, when everyone involved is being more reasonable.

Now now, don't get too hasty. Be patient, talks like this can be stressful, but if you want them to be fruitful, you need to sit them through till the end.

EDIT: x-post

EDIT: TK are you waiting for anyone in particular to submit their orders? If not, do you think you could lock orders in preparation for an update sometime in the say, next 48 hours? I get a little impatient for updates when my IOT nations go to war...

I played a GM once a while ago, and if someone told me this I would be POed. It is impatient, and I'm sure tk will do the update in a timely manner. It is actually a lot of work to GM, and actually took quite a bit of my time, and I had a relatively easy IOT to GM, and I know tk has a much bigger job, so perhaps some of y'all should try to make things a bit more easier for tk, so instead of just saying that your orders changed, maybe actually say what they changed to? It would be terribly burdensome to have to go back and forth to find some changed orders. Little things like that would make it a lot easier for him.

In other news, tea is being exported in greater numbers from Southern Han and contributes quite a bit of our economy. But some backwater, hillbilly, minority rebels, disliking the (totally justified) racism shown toward their ethnicity, recently burned entire tea shops in Guangzhou! The nerve! Han leaders quickly subdued the rebels and mass buried them in sand graves, alive, for the most part, but for the leaders we delivered the ancient Chinese tradition of ling chi on them in public. The emperor, disliking the cruelity of ling chi, made it a forbidden death (conveniently after the tea rebels were given judgement), however says that any more rebels will either be sold in to slavery or imprisoned for life.

Going by the looks of the last two posts (not yours S. Han), have the peace talks collapsed, or is this still possible?

I was just asking if anyone in particular is being waited on. in such a case, i would help him out by dropping a few VM reminders. If he wasnt, i was just asking for orders to be locked so we could see an update will be here soon. I apologize for my impatience, but I am impatient at times. Bear with me here.

CANADA TO REMAIN NEUTRAL IN WARS IN EUROPE!
Yesterday PM Stephen Harper spoke to the house as to why it was essential to not get involved in either the war on Rome, or the war on Spain in Europe. I claimed that Canada did not currently have to force or production to make a substantial difference in either war, and choosing sides would only hurt our relations with key powers on the world stage, of which some of them we consider to be allies.

Meanwhile the head of the opposition claimed that this was a cowardly movement and that we should assist Spain in this war. The Canadian Action Party leader also demanded we stepped in to aid Rome.

Stephen Harper has claimed to be a loyal supporter of the peace keeping mission Canada has been involved in in the past, and hopes that we can do what ever possible to maintain peace, but now wasn't the time.
"War will only put our country

The house was torn during a vote as to whether or not to send supplies to Spain, however in the end it was 47 votes in favor and 43 votes against. The bill will have to be sent though the Senate, which will almost certainly support it before there is a guarantee that it will go through.

more information to come then.

(2 days later the Senate vote on it, despite the odds, the bill gets rejected on a count of 8-7, with 5 abstains. Canada will remain neutral in this war)

Selective hearing? Oh yeah? Your aggression is what started this in the first place! And now its my fault...

Britain thanks Stephen Harper on his decision, but not his motives. Canada should stay out of Europe, PERIOD. 'Peacekeeping mission' or no (hmm...where have we heard the term peacekeeping before? Oh yes, the SRO who has been threatening us...oh what a lovely coincidence) you have no more business in Europe then we have over there. just as if we interfere there you will swarm against us, I am sure that Europe will swarm against any American invasion.

The peace talks have failed.

I'm sorry for your nation's losses.

We have no intention on invading, and in fact I am morally supporting Britain in their defensive war. Given that you are the stronger side, I will remain neutral, but if you start loosing I will send aid if you ask.

By saying should we push Spain too far you should step into the war, and on their side? By insulting Britain and trying to twist public opinion of this war? By intererfing in Western European affairs period?
