Okay, during the March Break my friend and I made up a plan.

We would run/jog/walk everyday for as much as we can, basically time given, and we would be eating less to make our appetites smaller.

Is this a good method?

We get 1hr - 1.5hr to do the jogging part, since we're only allowed to do it while we're in school (Darn parents). We average around 7km - 12km per hour by walking.

Can anyone suggest something better which I can do during the school or any other time.

And please, no calling me a fatty and stuff like that (I still recall someone doing it before on here.)

Drink only water, and stay hydrated. But what exactly is your goal? To lose weight? To become more physically fit?

don't eat less, eat healthier.

drop the carbs and eat more proteins.

But if he is exercising, carbs are a necessity. :)

Its a start. Try to get some muscle targeting things like crunches. Take stairs instead of elevators and stuff. Get some strap on wieghts for your lags and wrists. There isn't much you can do in school.

Diet isn't all about eating less. Its about eating right. Ask a dietitian at your school if you have one. Don't do diet fads.

You mean you're parents won't let you jog?????

sounds like a good plan although I might be an idea to stagger it, because your body will need to adapt to jogging, for example bones will become more dense where they attach to ligaments, so your body needs time to adjust. I would suggest mixing it up with other activities such as swimming, for example, which will not put such a great strain on body components, if your not used to it.

With regards to diets: dieting is a mugs game. You will need to change your eating habits which will be very difficult if your parents are doing the cooking. Basically to stop eating is a very bad idea because you will be denying yourself eseential nutrients, particularly if you are exercising your body will want to grow a whole new set of stuff and will need certain oils to do it.

I am sure there'll be some good folks on this thread who can help you with how you should change your diet but I would recomend to stop eating all processed food if you are, switch from white to whole grain bread, avoid pasta, (very refined food) and other bulky foods. Try to aquire a taste for freshh fruit and veg. Don't avoid proteins like meats because your body will need them, but cut all fat of your meat first. Grill meats rather than fry. In fact, don't eat any fried food at all. Don't eat any take-away food or fast food. Don't add any suger to your food or drink. in fact remove all suger from your diet and avoid any convinience or ready-meals/tv diners as these are loaded with suger and or fat.

With regards to your parents, you will need to open negotiations with them and explain why you want to do what you want to do and ask them nicely for their support. Explain that its very important to you and that you expect their support. If they refuse or seem reluctant tell them that unless they get on board your going to become gay. (if you are already gay tell them your switching religions) see how quick they jump.

The most important factor in all of this is WILLPOWER you need this in spades.

when you are out running and feel like giving up, just think of a nice chickadee in skimpy panties:) ....

Physically fit, my weight is alright (I remember talking about this to you.)

Yes, I remember :) I was just wondering in case anything had changed or something. Unless you are eating two hippopotamus per day, I wouldn't cut back of food intake, as Warpus said, eat smarter and healthier.

I myself have been having problems eating right, and its been affecting my running. So please don't neglect eating a good breakfeast and lunch before you run/walk.

Before you go to bed, do 40 regular crunches (not sit-ups, those are bad for your back), then bring your feet closer to you to raise your knees, and then cross your left leg onto your right knee, and do 20 crunches that way. Switch legs and do 20 more. Then do 40 more regular crunches.

This will make it MUCH easier for you to run/walk at a higher intensity and for longer distances. It will also build stronger abs/stomach for you. If at all possible, do this crunches session 2 times per day, one right before you run, and then one preferably right after, or wait till you get home.

I don't eat much less, and nope, no dietitian here.

Yes, I mean that. They say, "If you want to be active, clean the house everyday."

And i'm not exactly cutting out my food completely.

Heh, not sure if I could that, but i'll try. And I never eat breakfast, I eat lunch, a small meal, dinner, small meal, and then before I go to bed I eat something larger.

I have also been experiencing some lack of sleep lately (A.K.A, I can't sleep at all), does this have anything to do with the plan?

Well lack of sleep will cut into your ability to perform your best while exercising, and it will lead to demotivation as well. Sleep is essential for stress release and for physical recovery.

I've gone 2 days without sleeping at all, i've maybe gotten 10minutes of sleep putting both those days together  :cringe:   :twitch: :dubious: :thumbdown :aargh:

This sounds like a proxy excuse. Are they not on board with your plan at all?

They think my request to remain on school grounds to go on the track is just an excuse to be more with my friends. I've tried 3 times to convince them otherwise.

Don't set yourself up for failure by giving yourself some unrealistic expectation of how much exercise you'll do. You cant go from Lazy Joe to Fitfit McRunsalot in a day. Start off with some moderate jogging and go from there. Going from nothing to 1.5hrs a day is doomed for failure.
