IS

What? Who? Where?

What about the FMF? Ever heard of it?

FOREIGN MILITARY FUND?

think that's the correct wording.
Anyway, USA gave Israel over 30 billion US dollars as part of FMF just last year, been giving Israel help since the war with Egypt, around 50 years ago.
Anyway, if you're an American, there you go, the IRS will chase after ya for every dollar (if you owe) on your Income Tax, this, among others, is where they spent your money on, think...

I don't see how Jordan would be able to run Syria, is another problem.

Yeah, that's why I'm questioning it. I really don't think the Jordanian military, although nothing to sneeze at, is really capable of occupying or governing such a large mass of land/people. That is also to say nothing of Jordanian administrative capabilities.

And it also goes to Egypt. Mutual funding was one of the cornerstones of the peace treaty signed between the two, easing fears of one invading the other.

I think this explains everything if you are confused.

Sure, makes good sense(not really), now explain it to the common folk who strive to make ends meet everyday...

Aubrey missed the bit where Saudi Arabia is actually bombing IS (whom they really don't like). Basically, nobody likes IS.
That's because their 'child' whom they trained in their wahabbist schools is now misbehaving and needs to be punished somewhat for appearance sake.

That might have some merit if IS were wahhabist. Unfortunately, they're not. Which is why nobody likes IS, not even al Qaeda. Let's leave the propaganda to IS, shall we? They seem to be good at it.

Oh?

Muslims far removed from Saudi Arabia were attracted to the fundamentalist doctrines that Wahhabism represented, hoping that somehow returning to the practices of the Islam of centuries ago would provide answers to the chaos and disappointments of modernity and westernization.

Today the Islamic State enforces the same Wahhabi ferocity that Churchill warned against in 1921.

Saudi Arabia may have joined the American-led coalition against ISIS, but the fanatical beliefs we are fighting go straight back to the followers of Mohammed ibn al-Wahhab and the Saudi monarchy that rode the Wahhabis to power in the deserts of Arabia almost a century ago.

Islamic State descends from Wahhabism

Well it's further complicated when you consider that most people who could be described as Wahhabi don't actually call themselves that.

you're wrong

get out

Don't be mean. A couple pet monarchists always keep the conversation interesting. They're like an endangered species.

They know exactly why they're endangered too, but that doesn't stop them!

Then pray tell, what makes monarchy such an inherently brilliant way of government?

Presumably so you know who to behead if things go wrong.
