ITNES I - An Epoch of Change

To: Nordrike and Nordovia
From: Mordvin

Allowing Nordovia to trade with other nations I think is an acceptable compromise. It keeps other markets open. If only limit Nadruvia's trade with Wenadia will do fine.

To: Wenedia
From: Mordvin

Do not threaten my kingdom again. My forfather's built a greater army. Now I have used it once and I will use it again if it is needed to defend my nation. Please do not try to tempt war with Nordrike and Mordvin or you will know our greatest wrath.

Most of those terms we could - if reluctantly - accept. But the fourth one is not acceptable. Trade with Wenedia is vital not only for us, but also for the entire Baltic Sea. To forbid it would be to strangle Nadruvia, and that we cannot accede to.

After careful consideration point four will be removed

From Wenedia
To Nordrike

You will force that nation to stop trading with our kingdom. Also, we think those terms are outragous and are only furthering you power in the Baltic. We find 3,4 and 6 a threat to our secruity and you are making them vassals with little power to run their kingdom.

We are expressing our outrage. Our kingdom wants a balance of power to be maintained so that warfare does not erupt. Your alliance not only tips the balance in your favor but your treaty on Nadruvia overwhelming tips it in you favor.

If you must express your outrage do so with interpretive dance, But your concern is noted and yet you had no part to play in the war against the heretics so any treaty will decided by the active participants.

If you feel threatened then I suggest you propose so some of treaty between us to nullify any fears.

OOC: that was rushed so any mistakes I am sorry, but now I got to work

From Wenedia
To Mordvin

We never threatened your kingdom. Our nation only finds that your treaty against a good ally of ours unacceptable.

From Wenedia
To Nordrike

Many clauses of the treaty are basically allowing you to dictate their foriegn policy which you could use against us in the future. Our nation will go to aide Nadruvia unless the three clauses we stated are removed.

We fail to see how a seperate treaty could help reduce tensions but we are willing to listen.

From Wenedia
To Nadruvia

Yes, you will have our support.

To: Wenedia
From: Mordvin

Nordrike is a great ally of ours, a threat to them is no less a threat to us. You are interfering with our foreign policy. We can sign a treaty of trade with you as well as any other documents you wish to bring to the table. But you are threatening to have your nation take up arms if we carry out our treaty. Nadruvia agreed to the treaty as we stated was fair despite one article and we removed that article. Stop trying to dictate discussions you were never apart of.

From Wenedia
To Mordvin

We are part of the discussion as all of you are near or bordering my nation. You are tipping the power of balance in your favor and Nadruvia is our ally so we will assist them. Our kingdom never attacked you ally either so stop saying we attacked. Nadruvia refuses to agree to such an unfair treaty as they have recently stated asking for our help.

To: Wenedia
From: Mordvin

We have never stated you attacked Nordrike. But you have threatened us indirectly. Stop jumping to conclusions, unless your mind is so obsessed with war that you blirt it out when ever you talk. We are very cautious of your nation.

Nortugal
to Wenedia:
Let us make it official and out to the world. Our friendship pact should be known. A defensive and friendly pact.

to Mordvin:
Unlike Nordike, which seem to listen to Wenedia your kingdom keeps on diplomatically attacking them. Do note that a declaration of war against Wenedia will bring the Empire of Nortugal into their side. Try to be reasonable, like Nordike. Nadruvia is a free state, and they should and would remain that as friends of our friends.

You accuse us of tyring to spark war? We are trying to keep the peace. Our nation means no ill towards Nordrike or your kingdom. We are just concerned of our allies well being and the balance of power in our region. Not to add that there is a lot more hostility in your diplomacy then ours. We stated we are willing to listen to offers diplomatically but we refuse to allow you to turn our ally into a vassal of your empires. In fact we will probably demand that the only part of the peace is reparations to your kingdoms. They helped an ally who lost a war they should not be given a humilating treaty for being honorable.

From Wenedia
To Nortugal

We thank you for your support and Wenedia confirms the alliance between our two kingdoms.

From: The Gaelic Empire
To: Wenedia

We are considerably alarmed by your occupation of all Frankland, but this new alliance with Nortugal leaves us worried for Gaul's security.

Of course, we would like to secure peace, and so we propose a NAP for the duration of 10 years.

to Gaul:
Have no worries, our alliance with Wenedia is a defensive one. Unless of course Gaul plans a war on Nortugal... Than worries may come...

Besides, Gaul controls most of the Frank population, and made a deal with Wenedia about Frankland and who occupies what.

From Wenedia
To Gaul

We made a deal with you to destroy the Frankish nation. We helped save your kingdom from the invasion of the Franks. If you have a problem with our occupation suddenly then this change of policy is frightening. Our kingdom is willing to listen to a solution to lower tensions.

Like Nortugal said we only have a defensive pact and we accept your 10 turn NAP.

Truce and Trade Agreement (Nortugal, Caledonia: perpetual NAP, bilateral cessation of missionary activities, cessation of Nortuguese attacks on Caledonian commerce, trade agreement)

and thats the NAP I want to make sure still stands.

From Caledonia
To Nortugal

Does it still stand? That all depends: do you want it to? Because I can guarantee you that the easiest way to end it is to keep attacking our allies without cause.

You have been put on notice.

to Caledonia:
Obviously... Would a Solist keep his word? Do note, canceling our deal means canceling all our deal.

OOC: Hmm, I was under the impression that the deal was to divide Frankland.

I am willing to divide it but Gaul has made no mention of it since the war so I assumed things were fine. Now it is a little late for you to all of sudden bring this up... I have already begun to integrate and invest into the lands I have captured.

A Nortuguese suggestion for the Baltic Peace treaty:

1) Nadruvia will hand small amount of land to Mordvin Empire as in the map added.
2) Nadruvia shall pay 1 million silver coins (1ep) to Nordike Empire.
3) Nadruvia, Mordvin Empire and Nordike Empire will sign a 20 years NAP.
4) Nadruvia must increase trade with both, without hurting trade with others.
5) Nadruvia's army will not be allowed to exceed 20 thousands men, and their navy 15 ships.
6) Nadruvia's navy would not be allowed north of the line states on the map added.

7) Wenedia, Nordike Empire and Mordvin Empire shall sign a 15 years NAP and a trade agreement.

This is of course nothing more than a suggestion as we wish peace to return to the Baltic.

To: Nortugal
From: Mordvin

I believe these terms to be very reasonable. I think this treaty very fair and makes all parties happy. I do not know if Nordrike would like some editing but this seems to be atleast a good idea to work from. We have one proposal however, any ships that are exceeding the Nadruvian limit should be granted to Mordvin as we are in need of starting a navy and they would help our nation.
