Shah Saraxeres I- Lived from 366 to 431, Reigned from 198 to 431
"The Shah is dead!"
So came the cries as the news reached Persepolis. Shah Saraxeres I had collapsed while on a trip in Arabia. Attempts to revive him failed. Court Physicians remain unsure, but most agree that it was a failure of the Shah's ailing body, not foul play on anyone's part.
His eldest son, Tirius, was quickly located (Traveling with the army, also in Arabia). He was informed of the situation and is currently traveling to the great city of Persepolis for his coronation.
Saraxeres will be remembered dearly by his people. He will be remembered for his military actions, as the vanquisher of the Israfanids, a peacekeeper of Egypt, uniter of Arabia, and defender of Ectabana and Persepolis during Parhae's darkest hours. He will be remembered as a loyal friend and an honourable enemy. A wise and kind domestic leader, an inspiring figure for the people.
Saraxeres was a clever and curious child, and a favourite of his father, Taraxes II, the reuniter of Parhae. As he grew up, he clearly showed a capacity for rule. Prior to his coronation, he traveled greatly through Israfanidia and Egypt, two nations which would play a great role in his future.
After the death of his father from advanced age, Saraxeres I took control of Parhae. For the first decade of his reign, he ruled capably, keeping the nation running smoothly and peacefully. However, this bliss was to soon end, with the invasions of Luca and Israfanidia coupled with a coup attempt by his half-brother Arades. Arades was defeated and executed, but it resulted in the fall of Western Parhae. Saraxeres led his nation to fight the two invaders to a standstill, managed to hammer out a lasting peace with Luca, then turned to the hate-filled Israfanids. He despaired at how some people could have their minds so twisted misled by their government, but nonetheless remained firm in his actions against the invaders. With the help of Berber Egypt, he defeated the Israfanids and helped to clear away the darkness of propaganda from the Jews, who are now a productive and loyal part of the Shahdom of Parhae.
Following the defeat of the Israfanids, another Egyptian civil war broke out. Saraxeres intervened on behalf of Kufu, enemy of Menes (slayer of the Berber Pharoah), but his actions were not enough to save them. Signing the Purple Sea Accords with Phonecia and the Egyptian successor-states, Saraxeres believed that he would at last reign in peace again.
But it would not happen.
For it was just a few years after the conclusion of the Egyptian Civil War that Aryavarta attacked Parhae's friend and close trading partner Dukunnugeya. Fearing the dramatic increase of strength the conquest of Eastern Africa would give Dukunnugeya, Saraxeres declared war on the aggressors and completed the conquest of Arabia.
He passed away in a tour of the recent acquisitions. Saraxeres shall be dearly remembered by all.
The Shah is dead! Long Live Shah Tirius I!
