ITNES I - An Epoch of Change

TO: Sindhu
FROM: The Empire of Tieh China
CC: The Khmer Empire, Dukunnegeya, Parhae

We regret to inform the government of Sindhu that there now exists a state of war between it and the Empire of Tieh. The government of Sindhu has shown unprovoked aggression, and through its acts, seeks to destroy the delicate balance of peace which for decades has been maintained through the existance of treaties and agreements. The greivances which the government of Sindhu maintains with the government of Dukunnegeya are reasonable, yes, but the actions taken to resolve them are unnacceptable. Such a violent, unmoderated course of aggression as taken by the government of Sindhu only shows a lack of rationality on the part of its leadership, and marks a clear threat to Asian prosperity.

Beyond such aggression, the Empire of Tieh China can no longer tolerate the brutal oppression which the Sindhu government and formerly the Aryavartan government has placed upon the peoples of Bod and the Tibetan region.

Failing the relinquishment of the territories of Bod and Tibet, and the cessation of all hostilities against Dukunnegeya, the Empire of Khmer, and Parhae, there now exists a state of war between our nations.

TO: The Bulgar Onaghur Empire, Ugria
FROM: The Empire of Tieh China

Due to the lack of a peace proposal, the Empire of Tieh China shall take the initiative upon herself, and according to previous agreements made in closed communciation, we propose the following division of the former realms of Turan. We realise that such a division relinquishes a majority of territory to the realms of Tieh, but recall that this partition has already been agreed to in the past by the Onaghur government. We also believe we are entitled to such land due to our sacrifice being the greatest throughout the conflict.

Furthermore, alongside this partiton agreement, we propose that the powers of Ugria, Onaghur, and Tieh agree to the following articles to ensure the steady flow of trade and communication accross the Silk Route and other trade routes which travel through this region:

1.) That the governments of Tieh, Onaghur, and Ugria shall protect any and all merchants travelling through the trade routes of central asia without any descrimination towards merchants of a particular nationality.

2.) That the governments of Tieh, Onaghur, and Ugria shall agree to the mutual duty of maintain the trade routes, and that all powers shall act in the best of their ability to maintain a stable flow of trade.

3.) That the governments of Tieh, Onaghur, and Ugria shall keep taxation upon merchants at a minimum, and reduce tarriffs considerably so as to increase future commercial activity within the region.

A story I conjured up in the last hour or so. :p

---------------------------------------

Valairus was in the saddle. He was with the rest of his men, in the trees, away from the Carthiginians view. He was waiting for the signal. Then it came. "Atack!" screamed the Captain of the Royal Guards. Valairus kicked his horse on the side, and rode into a fast gallop. It was an awesome sight, the Royal Guard in full strength, charging. The large Punic camp was below the hill, in open flat land. They didn't have a clue. The Guards swept down, and enveloped the camp. The Punics didn't have time to recover. It was a slaughter. The Punic men were all killed, no prisoners. They didnt have time for prisoners. Prisoners slowed armies down. It was all over with very quickly.

Valairus was off his horse, staring into his sword.
"Well, Valairus! What do you think of the battle?"
"I think it wasn't a battle, no. It wasn't worthy enough to be a battle. Battles are fought between two armies. Victories from battles are hard earned. That, that was child's play. The Punics had no chance. To call it a battle would be to give them much too much credit." said Valairus
"Good spirit, boy!" said the Captain. "That is why we are the finest in all of Cimberland!"
"The finest in all of Soliade, is more like it." remarked the cocky Valairus.
"Indeed. Now, we must take the valuables from this camp, and ride on. We must not let the Punics get a second of rest from our pursuit."
"Right."

The Royal Guards set out. There was little time for rest, for there was a sizable Punic army in a route ahead. They would need to catch the Punics, like a frightened rabbit in the hunt. Then slaughter them. Valairus, like most Solists, despises the Punics. He is a follower of Sol, first and foremost. When news of the massacring of Solist missionaries in Punic lands reached Cimberland, he was one of the first in the Guard to ready his horse. He is a young man, handsome, and looked like someone out of Ancient Rome, for Rome was his home city. Another reason to hate the Punics. And, maybe most importantly, he loved to be in war. And command. To be on the battlefield, put him at ease.

Not even a day passed, when the scouts returned. They spotted the Punics, not even ten thousand paces from their current location. The army must've numbered at least fourty thousand, they reported. The Royal Guards barely numbered ten thousand, and even then, many men had lost their horses. The Gaulish calvary was also small in number.
Valairus found the Captain, along with other high ranking men of the detachment.
"We must wait for reinforcements" said the Captain This was the general consensus among the officials, but Valairus overheard.
"That is a horrible idea, disgraceful to the Guards, and all fighting men of Sol." said Valairus "We can crush the Punics. We need conviction, and we must strike hard. If we strike as they nestle into their makeshift camp, we can slaughter them all. The land ahead is a valley, perfect for a charge of horses. What I propose is, to have the men without horses to shoot arrows of fire, to make the Punics panic. Then in the confusion, the cavalry will charge head on, all the way through. The Punics will have one means of escape at the end of the valley. About one thousand unhorsed men will sneak across to the other end of the valley tonight, and bring heavy pikes with them. They will dig in as best as they can. When we charge, the fleeing Punics will be caught between us and the pikes. Most of the Punics are levies, so they will lack the discipline to organize mid-battle. Even though they outnumber us vastly, we can slaughter them all with minimal losses."
The commanding men took this in. It was risky. What if the pike men didn't reach their destination, or the Punics broke through?
"Make it happen" said the Captain.
"You will not regret it, Captain" commended Valairus
"You will if it fails." uttered the Captain.

The large valley was nestled with tents and such by nightfall. The cavalry was lying in wait at the bottom end of the valley, while the pike men snuck aurond and made their way to the other side of the valley. The cavalry men moved up, and waited for the volley of fire arrows to be let loose. When they did, their deadly flames lighted up the night sky. The calvalry charged with a fury like no other. They enclosed in on the Punics. Many were sleeping. Some tents were on fire, adding to the confusion of the Punics. The cavalry men cut down Punic after Punic. They slaughtered them. Their blood ran beneath their horses hooves. Resitance was minimal, as the Punics lacked the discipline to maintain their composure. Soon, the men were fleeing in full force to the end of the valley. Many men who couldn't see, as it was a dark night, ran into the pikes, and fell victim to impalation. The fleeing Punics stopped, and knew they had to fight. Almost no men were armored, and few men had their weapons. They punched, kicked, threw anything they could, something to stop the onslaught. But the calvalry, even being outnumbered, had the experience, and the position. The slaughter went on for about a half hour. Nearly all Punics were killed, there were very few prisoners at the end of the night. The Cimberi-Gaulish forces scored a major victory.

There were few deaths. But one of the men who did die was Valairus. He lead the charge, and fought through most of the night, but, alas, his horse was killed, and he was attacked by tens of Punics at once. It is said, he was stabbed at least 10 times before he fell to the ground. Valairus will forever be an immortal hero to the men of the Royal Guards of Cimberland.

The government of Sindhu has shown unprovoked aggression, and through its acts, seeks to destroy the delicate balance of peace which for decades has been maintained through the existance of treaties and agreements.

Treaty.PNG

- We would also commit to buying the small island chains just off the Indian coastline back from Khemria for 4 economic points although this is not part of the proposed treaty and a seperate deal

*Map correction, Khemrian inclusrion into Bangladesh is to become Sindhu again. Khemeria doesnt get this piece of land.

4) Nadruvia must increase trade with both, without hurting trade with others.

What exactly is meant under this (both OOC and IC)?

Hate to bring up old stuff, but what was this

The original cause was the disappearence of the Onoghurian ambassador prince who was travelling by the Silk Route to Tieh China; declaring that the Turanese were at best too incompetent and at worst too belligerent to be allowed to control a vital portion of the Silk Route, Onoghuria proclaimed its intention to make the Silk Route safe by any means that may be necessary.

about, anyway?

The Republic of Hong Kong announces its neutrality in this war in Asia. But we must put our word in that we believe peace should prevail and that Sindhu should have a chance to come to fair peace terms before we become no better than the Westerners.

The Onoghurians sent a prince of theirs to Tieh China through your territory. He mysteriously disappeared near your eastern border, and has not yet resurfaced. That is as much as most people know. ;)

Well it means that even thought they had to give uplittle lands and economy they still must remain in trade reletions, and streghten them, with those who won over them.(it's good for them too ofcourse).

That doesn't answer my question at all. How do they "strenghthen" trade relations? They are trading anyway. Do you mean the relaxation of tariffs or something like that? Or should they just send a few token merchants and say that they've "strenghthened trade" in this manner?

We caution the powers involved that this peace proposal not be accepted. The Sindhu government, now realizing that it is not at war with only three, but four great powers, has resorted itself to groveling - yet groveling and reparations shall not aleve the threat which Sindhu has shown itself to be through its unwarranted aggression against the Dukunnegeyan peoples. The Sindhu reason for war, if it can be verified as accurate, is quite irrational. According to them, the Dukunnegeyans (which in reality were not Dukunnegeyans, but natives armed with weapons attained through local trade) attacked a small, unprofitable colony. Sindhu responds to such an attack with the attempt of destroying the Dukunnegeyan homeland, and an intent to secure Dukunnegeya's African colonies. Such was not a simple matter of punishment - such is a matter of conquest.

The Sindhu government cannot be trusted, this is plain to see. We caution against a peace at this juncture. However, should the powers agree to peace, then the Empire of Tieh shall acquiese, and we shall sign a peace of our own.

We hasten to assure the Tieh government that we will not agree to such a peace without the approval of the other four powers. Being a peaceful people, the deal as offered by Sindhu would be acceptable to us, but it would be a betrayal of our friends who leapt so readily to our aid to accept it, as well as betrayal of the world to let such a dangerous force range unchecked!

Let the armies of the four directions; the red and the green, the white and the black, meet in the centre, and restore the balance that was lost!

To The Asian World especially Tieh China
From Sindhu

Many of you received private comminques when I was telling you all about the impending invasion of Sri Dukkyenga. These all publicly stated the intrests of keeping the peace and unity within Asia, and the want of a white peace with Sri Dukkyenga once an apology was given for its piracy against our merchants, with ships under the DIRECT control of their governmment. Let alone their express arming of natives against a soverign colony of Sindhu.

What you see here are the responses of nations like Tieh China that only wish to subjugate the people of Sindhu and expand their own power at the expense of the very peace and balance that they apparently promote. This shows them nothing but hypocritical and indeed the true warmongers in this sorry adventure. To back a nation in full knowledge of its provocations, and to continue the ar in full knowledge of a fair and honourable peace treaty being offered.

We offer a simple peace with nothing changing, however Sindhu will fight if need be and you will find Sindhu will not fall easy.

To Khemeria and Parahae

Sri Dukkyenga would agree to the treaty I have offered you, will you? So we can return to peaceful commerce once more.
