Updates will remain at 100 years for now. At some point (either 200 BC or 1 AD), they'll go to 50 year updates. But that shouldn't matter too much--still long updates.

I mean, in less than 15 years Alexander the Great destroyed the greatest empire in the world then built a new one. That same action permanently changed the cultural face of the world stretching Hellenic, now Hellenistic, culture from its homelands in Hellas to India. Now, how are you going to express that in turns of 100 years?
Fine, but I'd still rather get past the iron age.Israelite9191 said:See? That is the problem.

Ultimately, I'm the mod, so if you want to play, live with it.![]()
Are you ready to make peace with Egypt yet?North King said:It almost happened with my empire collapsing.![]()

And sorry about not playing IC. Maybe I should start following your example- sign peace with an enemy that attacked a good ally within one turn and then ally with them to get involved in something that I shouldn't eveen be involved in!![]()
darkening said:@Luckymoose: We're discussing whether or not to make peace- continue those stupid remarks and it all go out the window. And, fyi, we're not worried about you- its all Rome's big nose.
Heh, it is all IC. All IC in the eyes of my Consul who can scream and tell the common people "Victory without a drop of Roman Blood! The Carthaginians have agreed to withdraw from Syracuse!" I mean, that's going to guarantee his re-election practically.
I would say people have never actually died/failed as a direct result of being too cautious. And you do know that to the Chinese, a big nose is a good feature right? It means that you will be wealthy in the Chinese schemes of things. Emperor Gaozu aka Liu Bang, founder of the Han Dynasty, a farmer at birth, was said to have a massive nose
But a big nose by chinese standards may not actually be very big.alex994 said:Emperor Gaozu aka Liu Bang, founder of the Han Dynasty, a farmer at birth, was said to have a massive nose![]()

It was that or slavery and since there wasn't much food or water around, it seemed that a quick death would be more merciful than a slow painful one. The bad part was that I didn't really want to destroy the entire city.North King said:*repeats self*
You burned my city, slew those who sacredly gave their lives unto your hands, betrayed me, and you expect me to make peace with you monsters? Never. I would sooner make peace with Sparta than you.

We'd like peace very much. Northerners, please just leave our lands.alex994 said:To Eirehann, Brittannia and Tartessos
From Roman Republic
The withdrawal of your troops from the territory of Tartessos and cessation of hostilites with Tartessos is what Rome desires. Basically a white peace between Eirehann/Brittania and Tartessos and her allies. Rome will thus aid Tartessos in the rebuilding of her country. In addition, a 5 turn NAP between Tartessos and the Northern nations.
We hope this will come to a peaceful conclusion and that trade, ever more prosperous then war, can be restored to her rightful path.![]()
